- In this video, we share our beautiful journey to Imphal from Ukhrul. Imphal is the capital city of Manipur state in Northeast India.
Manipur is known and the land of Jewels because of its rich in natural resources, biodiversity, culture and different ethnic group. Imphal, city, capital of Manipur state, northeastern India. It lies in the central part of the state in the Manipur River valley at an elevation of 2,500 feet (760 metres). The city is a major trade centre noted for its weaving, brass-ware, bronze-ware, and other cottage industries. Imphal College, Imphal Training Centre, Dhana Manjari College, and a technical school are located there. Imphal is connected with the North-Eastern Railway at Dimapur, Assam, and with Myanmar (Burma) by hard-surface roads. It has an airfield with regular service to Kolkata (Calcutta; 400 miles [650 km] west-southwest) and Guwahati in Assam state. The population is mainly Manipuri. Pop. (2001) 221,492; (2011) 268,243.

That Herb in Meetei language it is known as u-sing-sa (u pronounce as ooo , ooosingsa) and in Nepali it is known as Timbur (timbooor) :)
Well timbur is bit different compare to the one in the video. Timbur has thorn in their trees but these doesn’t have it the one in video has large tree but timbur has lesser height… in Arunachal timbur is vastly found at bomdila areas whereas these (one in video) are available in itanagar and some part of Arunachal too… these are geographically based depend upon climatic conditions I believe…both could be called as schezwan pepper in English. And timbur has stronger taste then the one in video( well atleast for me)....

I think the green thing is called mountain pepper. I have recently developed taste for it and loving it in almost every dish I prepare. You got it at a very reasonable price....out here in Delhi it is not so reasonable, after all it comes all the way from back home! don't they?
