Just before turning 50, teaching 12 hours a day, one of my kids had already left home and the other about to, I decided I needed to learn something new that would get me back outside like when I used to mountain bike a lot. And to cut a long story short, the EUC was chosen (Even though a few weeks earlier mentioned to my daughter that I wouldn't get one of those wheel things because blah, blah, blah...) I've since gone from a Inmotion V10F to a V12HT, and I'm about to turn 51. The EUC has been the most fun, scariest, frustrating and enjoyable thing in my life. I've meet a new bunch of people to ride with, and days like today where I went to teach a few classes, and in-between just rode around on and off road wherever the wheel took me was just wonderful. 😊

Happy Birthday Jimmy! I completely agree with you. As I have gotten older I promised myself that I would not stop trying new things. One of the main reasons I go to the gym is to make sure I stay strong enough to do what I want to do and be there for my family when needed. PEVs, building and flying FPV multi-rotors, are just some of the hobbies that keep the mind engaged and the spirit recharged.

Turned 49 Jan 9th and not kidding, I had a massive mental breakdown. Just got real sad the moment I woke up. Like thank God for 49 years but I am now at that age where I see my mortality. It freaked me out hard for the whole week. Didn't enjoy my birthday at all. Not even the little party the better half threw. Since then I have purchased a Z125 mini bike and I got my XR last Sunday. SO far I have put 30 miles on it. Fell a dozen times and smile everytime I get off work. I keep my OW in the trunk and can't wait to ride it. Like you said, NOW life begins. I don't fear my inevitable end like I did. Its there waiting for me but I plan to slide in beat up, scars, grey and worn out!! FLOAT LIFE baby!
If you have found a love and appreciation for the one wheel and electric unicycles, you are far from half dead

Happy Bday Jimmy, always so great to see your vids. Totally feel you on making the most of the we have (45yrs here). Early into PEV'ing I started riding with my dog running alongside me, and we now go out a few times a week. Even though it's usually the same bike path and a short ride, it's an amazing adventure for both of us every time.
Not thought about age in years. Kinda the same time I got my first onewheel five years back, aged 46. I refound freedom and don't have time to waste. Floatlife

Happy birthday. You have nailed why we ride. Learning the EUC has been the most exciting thing I have done since learning to ride a pushbike. It made me feel like a kid again. All the feelings of excitement, fear, adrellian all came back to me. Now I've got the riding worked out I find pushing my experience level still gives me those feelings.

Happy birthday, you’re always having fun and you’re not getting old. You enjoy life to the fullest and so does Andrew. I am 62 years old now and I still ride a high powered electric scooter. I just sold my monster pro and miss it dearly but for me, it was time to move on to something else. Keep up with the great videos. Got my GT last Friday and I have 22 miles on it…it would be four times that if it was warmer out. I live way up north and I’m still trying to avoid snowstorms. I LOVE this thing. I totally get what it means to float. Come spring and summer I’m going to constantly be riding. Life changing.

my focus has been shifting more and more to EUC, as the value/cost equation just has the OW beat in my opinion (not going into FM dramas, etc but plays a factor).
but there is something about the OW and the sideways stance that is something else.
but might be totally changing my mind when I get good enough on the EUC to do trails

Beautifully said. My father died 3 years ago, we did everything together. We kayaked, we repelled heights greater than the Statue of Liberty, we were always out on the mountains. After he died it was hard to find that adrenaline. That excitement. That Wonder. I got a one wheel about 4 months ago and I have 500 miles on it already, every time I get on that board I feel that same Wonder and excitement. It took getting around the city from being a slog everyday, to every single time I get ready to ride to work it's like I'm getting on a raging river. I get that same adrenaline. That same s*** your pants feeling of excitement. Glad I found this community.
Now get yourself an EUC it’s safer faster more fun and can go ten times farther. Take the next step into adventure.

Glad it was free, cuz this thing is absolutely trash. The smallest of bumps or cracks in the road and it will Buck you off it's so dangerous. Do you have any recommendations on models for euc? I'm definitely not a rich man haha.

I’m 50 and 235. I have a Begode EXN HT it’s the high torque. I can probably go 80 miles on it average if 20-25. That’s up and down hills and flats. It’s the best thing so far. Silent with awesome speakers for music. Just suit up like your moto x rider so crashing isn’t tragedy.

Why couldn't you give your wife YOUR protective gear so she could ride with a smile on her face and YOU ride the One Wheel? All the guys had protective gear but the one woman had nothing? Really? Do you care so little...
She’s my daughter and she’s about 1/3 my size. We tried, but all the safety gear was much too small except my gloves which she is wearing.
