  • Hey all, recently there have been some changes and additions to driving test routes in Telford, Shropshire.
This is an example of one of the additions and takes you out towards Long Lane and back through some country roads so it's vital that you are competent with spacial awareness, ability to make progress when safe and strong steering techniques to control the car on a few tight turns.
Any comments or questions please let me know. Thanks!

At the Hadley park roundabout with only half of the sign, there are 3 lanes on the approach that you took to it - is the left lane for 1st exit only, middle lane for exits up to 12 o’clock, and the right lane for all exits past 12 o’clock?

Hey there, if you mean when you're coming out of Hortonwood, the middle lane has always confused me as there are no markings on any of them. But yes I tend to use the left lane to turn left down to Trench Lock Gyratory, middle lane if I was going to Denso (and possibly even the Fallowfield although that one feels ok in either the middle or the right) and then right lane for Whitchurch/Wellington routes.
Just be careful though because the lanes on the roundabout itself don't really marry up position wise with the lanes on approach so it's very easy to wander across different lanes accidentally, I see a lot of drivers do it.
