      its a worst idea to hire ppl through references, they r least interested in work and they always rely on their contacts for the job security. Jobs should be filled purely based on merit. I know it doesn't apply in 99% of cases but that is actually the ideal way of recruiting a person.

    One of the biggest reasons for difficulty in finding a job is the number of people who fly into Dubai wanting to find jobs. Unlike other countries where they filter peiole out. You just simply go on a Visit Visa and look for jobs. Some peiole would blindly apply for jobs without even remotely matching the job specs. So the HR would never even see your cv. It all comes down to contacts. Also known as the vasta system. If not it's next to impossible to find a job in Dubai

    • @mydubaicareerchannel
      @mydubaicareerchannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      The recruitment company shouldn't charge you anything. Instead, the company that is looking to hire will pay the recruiter a fee for finding the right candidate. Typically recruiters charge the hiring company 15 - 25% of the candidate's annual salary.

    Dubai jobs are tricked from the beginning. Their Business model is to hire people not on their competencies but on their nationality. Hiring people from Asia who are ready to come as bachelors without wife and kids, is the standard with low salaries. I am Swiss with 15 years of experience in IT, Investment and Finance. Educated from western universities with 3 master degrees. Unfortunately never got any interviews because I am married with 3 kids and employers dont want to pay for accommodation and schools which are very expensive. Non sense is that most schools in Dubai are not accredited so when your kids go back to their home countries degrees are not recognized. If you are from Europe never apply to Dubai.

      It's very hard to find part-time or graduate opportunity opportunities in Dubai as companies are responsible for sponsoring your Visa. As such, they prefer to hire people on a full-time and permanent basis. It would be easier to get some experience in your home country and then look in Dubai.

    Hey Guys,
    Awesome video, super informative!
    I had a question, I'm a 25 y/o male private college graduate from New York (US Citizen) with a bachelor's in Entrepreneurship. I went ahead and finished Entrepreneurship Essentials Course from Harvard Business School Online during the pandemic recently. I have 5 years of work experience. 2 years in a management role during college, few internships, a year in retail banking and 2 in a business development consultant role out of college full-time which I am still working here in Manhattan. I would love to work in Dubai and save some taxes and enjoy the beautiful culture. Could you suggest any specific fields that I might have a higher chance of landing a job based on my field. I haven't started applying yet I am looking to narrow down my search, I am unsure where to start to be the most effective. Business development role descriptions for job listings in Dubai seem very broad. Also, if any other roles Entrepreneurship degree would work for in the UAE. I am sure it's not a common degree in the UAE amongst expats, I am unable to find much information online. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

      Wishing you all the best with your search for a Dubai role! Without knowing a bit more about you, it would be hard to give specifics. However, most people that land positions in Dubai do so by targeting roles that are most similar to what they are doing now - Experience is usually more important than your degree. You're right that Business Development can be quite broad but perhaps you could narrow this down by industry based on your industry experience or areas of interest. Speaking from personal experience, recruitment agencies are often looking for good business developers should that be an area of interest!

    So, this is a common scenario: Epacts who do not have permit to work in DXB cannot apply to jobs without a permit. So, how can you approach a recruiter/company respectfully for a vacant position or grow your networking?

      Typically an employer will sponsor your work visa once you start the job so it is not usually necessary to have a visa or work permit before you apply for a position.

      Hospitality is a big industry in Dubai and there are often opportunities in this field. However, it's very competitive and hotels may prefer to hire individuals with UAE experience.

      Hi Cham, the best way to find relevant recruiters is to do a vacancy search on indeed.ae for roles matching your requirements. You will be able to see vacancies posted by recruitment companies. The recruiters advertising lots of roles matching your criteria will be the best ones to reach out to. Wishing you all the best!
