Music is often at its best when it carries a deeper meaning. While we can’t promise that our sound will resonate with everyone, we poured our hearts into the lyrics of our latest release. “Self Betrayer” captures the essence of dealing with that one narcissistic figure in your life-be it a boss, an ex, or anyone who has tried to dominate your reality.
At first, their influence may feel all-consuming, but “Self Betrayer” is about that moment of clarity when you realize the blame they place on others is just a mask for their own failures. In the end, the truth always comes to light, and people reveal their true selves.

Our debut single ‘Self Betrayer’ is the first track to be released, streaming in the 26th of Jan on your usual streaming sites. This will be one of the tracks featuring on the already announced EP entitled ‘The Last Light’. While it is exciting to start releasing some of the music we have, and it will be promoted, we have no expectations surrounding this release. Enjoyment was made in the creation of the upcoming tracks and if anyone enjoys what we have then that’s pretty awesome!
Horizons Demise kicked off over a decade ago, emerging from the ashes of 'I Defy'. But life happened, as it does, and despite a library full of tunes, the project got sidelined. Fast forward over a decade later, and we're dusting off those old riffs, reigniting the flame, and finally polishing up some tracks for release. It's been a blast diving back into it, no pressure, just pure enjoyment. Who knows where it'll go? But for now, we're just stoked to be making music without the full-on band pressures. And there's something special about sharing it with the Swindon scene once again. We've been honoured to be part of it (on and off) since the days of Prometheus, Ventflow, Buried Beneath, 51 Wrecking Crew Carnival of Horrors, The Dead Lay Waiting, Killians Red, In the Absence of Light, Bleeding Aeons, amongst others. It feels like coming home.
