Other notes: For the first Wednesday during our trip, we started with Hudson's infamous T-135AC so that we could hear and experience a P-50 more properly. There were several other enthusiasts here recording the siren as well. We pretty much knew that this would become the new loudest siren we've ever heard from what everyone who's been here have said, and we certainly were not disappointed! From on top of the hill where I had my equipment set up, my decibel reader registered 110.1 dBA when the projector beamed my direction, and from Connor's recording spot (more than 400 feet away), he got a reading of 120.8 dBC, which is just absolutely BONKERS! I got 122.4 dBA while standing on top of the dirt mound near it, although my meter somehow later read 124.3 on ground level with the pole within 100 feet from it. It made my ears tingle even when it wasn't fully facing my direction, and when it did, it was loud even with hearing protection on, especially from on top of the dirt mound. It honestly came close to how loud the Cyclone 120 in Carrollton was from directly underneath. We did not have the balls to lift our earmuffs off all the way, that's how loud it was! We could also feel the sound pressure through our bodies pretty good, quite a bit more so than Morrison's P-50. Anyways, this thing may be a giant meme, but I'm really glad I finally got to get a good experience hearing a P-50 in person and this was a pretty fun test. Enjoy!
