No truer words for those in the department. My son and my daughter (she is no longer with the department) would love and cherish that blanket. My son, who is 36, has been with the FD since he was a volunteer at 16, also EMS then also became a PO and now works both!! (That kid is incredible), my daughter (also incredible) started younger than my son, as a explorer while in High School, then she went on and volunteered at her house till a opening came up which took a few years. Then she decided to make a complete 360° career change and now is back to volunteering again. Your bkanket is looking wonderful. I’m not a huge fan if C2C, I’ve made many years ago and I think like anything else, too much of one thing and then you don’t want to even think about it after a while. I will look into the pattern, thanks for sharing. It’s really great and I appreciate you showing us. (PS- my Son & Daughter were in different houses and opposing ones at that. lol can ya imagine the trash talk I had to live through at the dinner table at times) haha 🚒🚔🚑 💜🧶🤟🏼

Congrats on finishing the fabulous firefighter blanket. It’s awesome! My son was in the USAF and worked maintenance on fire trucks. He didn’t have enough certificates to continue when he got home.
so cool - I am so proud of you - it's beautiful - again we have something in common - I am making a plain c2c for a king size blanket1/4 t he way through I was so tired of it I put it away for 3 years - I am now alm ost at the half way point and struggling = this is my first c2c and I love the pattern - just too big and get bored with it - wish me luck - you are my inspiration - have a great day ladies and take care
Donna I'm so excited for you! When I got bored it helped if I turned on a crochet video and worked on it while the video played. It made me forget how long it was taking and the project seemed to go quicker.
Woohoo! It looks amazing! What a wonderful gift to your husband. The best investment I ever made was getting a upholstery /chenille needle. You sew your ends in with that and they are not going anywhere. Warning though it is extremely sharp! You have to wear a finger guard or just be really careful. My family is military.

That is a gorgeous blanket. My brother-in-law made one with the Maltese Cross and other things on it several years ago. Not sure what pattern or stitches he used. He was a firefighter for years and held the chief position at two different departments. Another b-i-l is a firefighter, started as volunteer then continued on as military, got deployed to Iraq as one then after coming home is an international airport one. Quite sure my dad was on the volunteer dept. for awhile. I seem to remember riding in the truck in a parade as a child. I may be wrong. I did get to ride in the truck in a parade with the pro brother-in-law close to 20 years ago. Proud of both of my sister's husbands.
