This entire album is just non-stop fire from the first instrumental to the last crazy end. Had to listen several times to be able to just try and unpack everything they are doing. Definitely another contender for album of the year.
MV shot at the Ishikiri granite quarries north of Tokyo. Tourist spot with hiking trails. Song was the encore at Club Eggman (B-M's favorite club) in Tokyo Sept. 9. Weren't many people at Eggman because of Covid restrictions but it was a homecoming for B-M. I had a chat there with Mr. Kubota, Eggman's former booking manager, who did more than B-M's own management getting them gigs in their early lean years. I saw B-M at Summer Sonic and Eggman and will see them in Cali but won't make Dallas or anywhere else in the US. Will see them at Tokyo Garden Theater in Jan. though. The Inada granite that's quarried at Ishikiri is known as "the White Lady" because of its whitish luster, and it fits Kanami perched on the ledge soloing. She said she was a bit scared but forgot it when it was time to play. You would think Misa would be more scared, but she probably had a drink or two. The lyrics seem to be a knock on social media. It's interesting there are verses with "hold 'em"-Miku took 2nd place in the Turbo category at the Japan Open poker tournament playing Hold 'em. There's also "bluffing" in the lyrics.
That was the "other Miku" at the poker tournament. I believe there is the "On Stage" Miku then there is the lyricist, band leader, negotiator, poker player. IF I ever get to meet her a question I would ask is "When was the first time you realized you are the smartest one in the room". Because I think she is most of the time. She does hide pretty good.
Dude I watched this video like 30x already. 😂 I loved it when you totally lost it when you heard the bass solo. I mean the first time I heard it, felt like my brain just got swollen at the 1st part then suddenly melted at the 2nd. It was so good. and your reaction is by far the best! keep it up!
As Miku gets more solid on the rhythm , Kanami is free to just shred off in every direction. This band is maturing beyond their usual level that is already better than anyone else playing today. Hard to even fathom what we will see in the next few years.

The concert I'll be attending at the Silver Spring Fillmore on 10/25 has yet to sell out. The VIP section sold out in the first week, but GA can still be had at pretty much face value. At a capacity of 2000, it will be the largest venue BAND-MAID has played outside of festivals. Then the show at the 4000 seat Nickeloden Theater on 10/30 tops that, and it has tickets available as well. The concert on 1/9/23 at the Tokyo Garden Theater blows them both away with 20,000 seats. I hope the TGT sells out and there are cameras there to capture it all for a new live video. I'm pulling out my wallet just thinking about it. 🤑

Band Maid is the best Rock band to come around since the Beatles! Straight up, absolute best band period! And I can't wait for Dallas either. Be great to see you there. Wish that I managed to finish the guitars I was making for Kanami, Miku and Misa by the time the show got here....but I would need a few more months to get them 10-0% right. :(

On the BAND-MAID prime site is a short video of how this video was recorded. It was 98 degrees and the sun was reflecting off of the white stone the whole time. It must have been miserable but you couldn’t tell from the performances. Kanami was fascinated by the echo in the quarry. Her ear must pick up every nuance of sound.

"Influencer" was played on Sep.7 at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo in Band-Maid's pre-US concert as the 13th song and that was the premiere (live debut). Just so you know, I witnessed it at the venue ヽ(^o^)丿. You need to pull up the audio of SHAKE THAT!!! You don't have much left to listen to. This one is totally 80's old school power rock. Watch out for your brain holes when the riff kicks in.
