I'm seeing a lot of people claiming that my decision of who to pull or not pull for on MY account is "so frustrating" and "stupid". So allow me to explain my reasoning even more in depth so maybe you understand better. My plan is to have a hyperbloom team (Nahida, Yae Miko, Kokomi, Mona/Lisa) and then a second team using Heizou, Klee, Yanfei, Barbara. (Assuming a new catalyst characters doesn't come out who fills one of those roles better). On the hyperbloom side, Nahida provides amazing dendro application, and Yae Miko obviously introduces the electro we need. That means we just need hydro. Koko would be the best option for this, as she's the catalyst character with the longest on-field skill that applies hydro. We then will swap between our hydro and electro characters to keep proccing the hyperbloom. If I ran Baizhu on this team, it wouldn't add any value to the desired hyperbloom, since we already have Nahida for the dendro application, and we'd have Kokomi if we needed heals. That brings us to the other team. As stated int he video, dendro and anemo do not react together, so the best we could do with a Baizhu there is a burn comp, but I can't say it's my favorite reaction. Plus if we are using Heizou, then Barbara actually pairs nicely as we can get some hydro application as we run around hitting enemies, thus allowing us to swirl. So in both teams, I don't see myself needing to use Baizhu. It doesn't have to do with "meta" or "only liking female characters" or any other accusation I've seen tossed around in the comments. If anything, another big factor is that he would require me to once again complete Nahida's first and second story quests again. Not to say I never will, but since I'm juggling 3 accounts, it's not something I'm eager to undertake. Was I ever a huge fan of Baizhu's design? No, not really. But if I felt he could fit into one of our planned teams, I 100% would have pulled for him. I also don't see the need to pull just to "make a video out of it". I don't play on all my accounts every day, so building up another primo supply for future pulls is no easy task. And at the end of the day, it is MY account. If you like Baizhu, pull for him on your account. I do what I feel will be best for me and my account(s), and I would rather save my primogems for a guaranteed Kokomi when she gets a rerun. So yeah. But at least our Barbara is usable now :)

I would never say this kind of decision is bad or something else. I just wanted to offer my point of view comparing Baizhu and Kokomi which one Is good in which scenario to show that they're uncomparable and both good. I just Wish you good luck on Kokomi and I'm sure you'll enjoy her on spells only account.
I think the reason for the second bubble after Barbara's bursg doing almost the same is bevause of the weapons passive, which heals everyone after you did her burst.
yep. tbh, i would put clam set on future kokomi too. esp since she has no other good set specifically for spellsonly for her to have, like deepwood since...nahida ideally should have it, and tenacity is not exactly needed, and yeah.

As a lvl 90, nearly triple crowned Baizhu enjoyer, stick to whatever makes you happy. Your wishes and account, your choice to do whatever you want with it. Keep up the good work, man :)
As a die-hard Baizhu fan, C4R1 Baizhu haver, I understand your reasoning. Don't feel pressured to pull for units you don't vibe with or feel like they don't have any value to your account
@@lostblueboy I'm pretty sure he knows how to play yanfei, it's just kinda hard to memorise every playstyle over 5 accounts, plus it's not like he really does any meta content so he doesn't really have to learn about how to get the highest damage out of a character lol

Dude, if anything, it should be EASIER to remember how to play different characters when you play them on different accounts over and over. He doesn't use Yanfei much = he doesn't remember/know how to because he doesn't need to. No need to defend his honor lol
10:53 Yanfei tip from a yanfei main! If you want big damage, use her burst first, then either her skill then Charged attack, or just go straight for a charged attack. But you always wanna go burst first with Yanfei for big pp damage. Have a great day!
He can always rerun during Lantern Rite! This is perfectly fine imo. Kokomi might be better for this account at the moment compared to him considering you have Nahida and then there's....Barbara.
im very happy to see barbara being built!! Also skippin Baizhu gives more time to level up and build other characters and i think thats a great choice after all he will have a rerun in the future anyway
Your reasoning is perfectly understandable, all of these people are just hungry to see people pull and keep projecting on you. I don't see what they can't understand...rather than risking it all on Baizhu and missing Kokomi again, this is definitely a good decision for the account.
baizhu's shield is not a shield. it's just a paper thin shield to kind of make you immune to interruption (it generates too slow to be reliable against groups of enemies tho..). don't pull for baizhu if you want a shielder, he's a healer.
Half of these comments are ridiculous, if he doesn’t want baizhu then that’s his choice, so stop trying to force him into pulling for baizhu. Also it’s a well known fact that Java has been wanting kokomi on this account for the longest, so stop acting like this is something new to y’all smh
Having another dendro character is already more then enough reason to pull as far as im concerned. And dont forget agravate teams, even without fischl Yae is a powerhouse.
Truuue aggravate is busted also with sucrosse is even better, also aggravate with nahida and sucrosse is fine but the 1.5U dendro being preventing the swirls so yea i agree with u
Running aggravate in catalyst abyss would actually be a pain, since with the character options he has, there's barely any combinations that will make an optimal team where nobody's potentials are wasted. Add a hydro and they will start blooming instead of aggravating. Add a non hydro and your options become limited to on field DPS or a Lisa/Baizhu/Nahida/Yae team...which might like, work I guess, but it's a lot of effort for something that might not bring out those results
@@Sachicodao Yae, and Baizhu (if you have him) in an aggravate team is one of Yae's best teams right now. You can easily throw in Sucrose Lisa or Nahida in to the flex slots that usually have either Kazuha or Fischl and have a pretty good team for abyss.
Here’s one issue with not pulling for Baizhu - People now have the full right to ask you “Are you going to pull for X on Y account?” But I agree. As a Baizhu haver myself, you don’t need him as of right now. Especially with your current need to just… farm relentlessly.

Java in the past: If the character wields a catalyst, I pull for them on Spells Only Java now: I don't want to pull for Baizhu I understand you're reasoning, but maybe in the next Baizhu banner after Kokomi?
That would probably depend on the characters around his rerun. If there's more anticipated catalyst users them yeah baizhu would be skipped again. Kokomi will likely rerun in 3.8 as well so it's pretty soon.
Baizhu is a great dendro applicator off-field, and even if you don't care about that, having another healer would be incredibly useful for the account.
Since you didn't use it I have to ask: Did you know that Barbaras charged attack heals way more than her normal attacks? That could maybe raise the bubble damage, but since it is slower i don't know for sure.
Well...Coming from current Baizhu main... In my opinion... The trial run did him dirty... He Is pretty much insane healer for my team. After getting him He replaced Zhongli in my team. But if you ever want try some Fun thing... Baizhu with Yanfei Is crazy. Since Baizhu Is buffing burning reaction based on his HP and his dendro application with his Burst Is... Not as good as Nahida but still decent. And enough for lots of things. Kokomi And Baizhu... Both Are great And good in their specific things. Baizhu Is amazing with his teamwide heal on E And with prototype Amber he can heal whole team on his Q too. Other thing Is being flexible on dendro application and not being tied to place. Meanwhile Kokomi is bit more consistent with lower heal for longer time with teamwide healing on her Q it require her to stay on field but thanks to her dmg not being nothing like Baizhu (mine Is on lvl 8 normal attack on healer build about 500 without reaction). The choice Is still yours but I hope you can look bit more into how Baizhu work because comparing him with Kokomi... I don't like it because even through they are both healers their usage and gameplay Is completely different.

Since I've Nahida, I felt no reason to pull for any other dendro character specifically since she applies enough Dendro for my team. Plus, I use Dendro Traveler consistently as well so that solves my various dendro teams easily (alongside having a few other Dendro 4 stars/Tighnari). I understand why not pulling for Baizhu is what Java would go with. That said, Baizhu's healing is pretty good so if you're ever lacking a better Dendro healer, I pulling for Baizhu in the future would be a good idea. ♡
i would still recommend pulling for baizhu on this account for a few big reasons: 1. content, new catalysts are free content for this account which is otherwise dead then there's patches with no catalyst users 2. dendro and baizhu are insanely generic and can go in basically any team except mono hydro and mono geo 3. you have lisa and a few other characters that can work great with baizhu on a second team besides your nahida yae hyperbloom, so you do have options.
Java you should pull for Baizhu because if you do get him you should a team with him Barbara Lisa and maybe sucrose for aoe and replace Barbara with Kokomi so you can have buffs and heals on the yae team and shields and heals on the baizhu team if you don’t get them just pull out the old credit card
So my love for genshin has dulled since waiting for fontaine, I have so many quest and all the time in the world while I wait for something extremely important (Career hunting takes time), but every single time I see your videos it resparks my joy for genshin. Regardless whether or not you are tired out from running so many Genshin accounts, you are amazing! lowkey feels like java doesn't like playing these accounts anymore :( the difference with the new honkai starail videos and these kind of monthly checkins into sword and spells only are like night and day, java seems so much more excited about starail and these alt genshin accounts are kinda left behind

Even for me (*I played for almost 2 years) these spiral abysses have a lot of HP pools and what makes it worse, sometimes they're separated all over the map and have a time where we couldn't hit it (like aeonblight, and Sumeru' PMA). *I played Rational and Ayaka Freeze team
I really like Baizhu and and would ofc welcome it if you pull for him, but I also understand very well the wish for Kokomi, especially if she is speculated for 3.8 ^^ save your primos she is worth it bro
as someone who kinda mains kokomi and has used her build on barbara before, having barbara be at around 36k max hp is actually quite normal even if it doesn't feel like a lot. i run a 4pc clam set with a healing bonus off piece with prototype amber btw so basically the same as you, java
I was actually thinking about kokomi too. But after trying and watching videos i just liked baizhus healing way more. Also i waited so long for Baizhu to become playable so-
eh i have baizhu at c1 and while he’s a ridiculous healer, he’s gonna be very meh for the account. the best route for you is probably to save for kokomi and the supposed cryo catalyst that is supposedly coming out in fontaine. baizhu’s great, yes but he’s gonna collect dust in spellsonly. i hope you don’t let some of the folks here pressure you into pulling for him, especially when as a new character, he has a better chance of rerunning again than someone like kokomi.

15:30 Honestly, Baizhu doesn't make that domain any less painful lol. His weak shield + shield breaking mechanics barely helps with the interrupt resist and HP drain. (I ran him in there several times in there because he was on my friendship team during the talent book overflow event)

Biggest lost u can have, baizhu is best healer at c1 he has 2 E that heals every member in my team for 15k each and the burst heals aroung 7k 6 times for 42k one char + a shield
@@elyonoyle nope Kokomi still has much more healing, more dmg and Hydro is more universal. I don't think people generally underestimate him, he's great. Its unfortunate too that Baizhu's E heal is so delayed :/.
I dont wanna start drama or anything but really , i wouldnt really say shield , in his trial it got pretty easily and quickly broken. So not much of a win for the shields (for heals yes shields not really)

I feel like ive seen people talk about replacing barbara with baizhu (so Yae, Nahida, Koko and Baizhu) but people are failing to remember that you can overproduce blooms. Only a set amount of blooms/hyperblooms can damage an enemy at any one time, so you're better off having more electro and hydro production, making more of an electrocharge-hyperbloom hybrid. To summarise: Java is doing the right thing for his account
Also I think they kinda forget that Nahida is a power house already when it comes to dendro application. Like I do her E and then I see no application of anything but dendro for a long while :'D
@PepiiChu exactly! Like honestly if you have nahida and you're feeling like you're lacking in dendro application, she's an excellent driver. Swapping a but between her and Yae (when their ICD is still in cooldown for example) would do just fine, at least until he has enough characters to fill out the more important slots like Kokomi and has the primos to waste on characters like Baizhu that have less value for this specific account
It is absolutely okay to say "I want kokomi over baizhu." What I think is really bad here, as a genshin content creator is that you didnt do any research on baizhu and don't understand his move set at all. Or rather that you are blatantly putting out misinformation about his move set. Just because you don't want a character, doesn't mean that you should put out misinformation about it.

Love watching your channel (and it's also inspired me to try a Catalyst only account as well, but I'm still at AR 30) and hope you have good pulls for Kokomi! Hopefully she'll come out soon cause I would love to have her on my Catalyst account as well (I might use in her a Tazer team rather than hyperbloom, but I'm not too sure yet)
As someone who used Mona in a hyperbloom team, Kokomi is a faaar better choice. Mona has poor off-field application and it drove me mad, so I can understand waiting for her
although he uses both mona and barbara. which is enough to fill the gap. Plus not like the hyperbloom team is going good since yae is not full em invested, so its not that bad for hyperbloom to be less invested. Ironically enough, because of baizhus passive, he literally...MIGHT be better in this specific hyperbloom team than kokomi since he buffs hyperbloom and this team could use that while kokomi would provide just....a lil more hydro app. also i thinkkkkk this is just his bias to kokomi, since he loves her in her main account. Dont blame honestly, a big comfort character, just like zhongli.
i like baizhu a lot but that doesnt mean that everyone has to lol, and he is pretty niche. The vast majority of my built characters are centered around hyperbloom and nilou bloom, so for me another dendro healer was a really worthwhile investment, especially for nilou bloom since our only other option currently in yaoyao. (Yaoyao has also served me well, but she does need a few seconds on-field for her burst to heal while baizhu can heal with his burst off field. Baizhu also offers some off field dendro application which has come in handy with nilou on field)
14:58 especially if you consider that, during the first few patches, a solid 60-70% of all characters needed talent mats from that domain, and it's even more painful if you don't have leveled characters/artifacts. Each of the debuffs/enemies individually would've already made that domain annoying, but all of them combined really makes me wish unspeakable things upon whoever designed it, as well as whoever looked at that design and thought "Yup, we should definitely implement this, players will love farming this endlessly!"
Pull and play who you like. Especially when you are still building your current teams. I pulled Baizhu because I like him but he's never used 😂 Later if you want him you can always wait for his rerun
Well… I understand your logic, but I think most of us watch the challenge to see you collect all of the characters of the weapon type. Your own rule was if they’re a catalyst, you pull for them. Of course nobody can force you to like a character, but it seems a bit counterintuitive to the challenge since characters will continue to be released who may synergize well with characters you neglect to pull.
@@senu. Yeah, so part of the challenge is seeing him pull and trying to collect everyone for fun. I mean, I absolutely don’t want to hate on him. It was just disappointing since the bulk of the content for these series is the pulling. I dont really tune in just to see him farming, I want to see him test out all of the new catalysts to his ability.
I was wondering about the "low" hp on barbara too, maybe you need more flat hp to have the higher hp% work? idk. Anyway loved the video keep up the great work!

Having another dendro character is already more then enough reason to pull as far as im concerned. And dont forget agravate teams, even without fischl Yae is a powerhouse.
Truuue aggravate is busted also with sucrosse is even better, also aggravate with nahida and sucrosse is fine but the 1.5U dendro being preventing the swirls so yea i agree with u
Running aggravate in catalyst abyss would actually be a pain, since with the character options he has, there's barely any combinations that will make an optimal team where nobody's potentials are wasted. Add a hydro and they will start blooming instead of aggravating. Add a non hydro and your options become limited to on field DPS or a Lisa/Baizhu/Nahida/Yae team...which might like, work I guess, but it's a lot of effort for something that might not bring out those results
@@Sachicodao Yae, and Baizhu (if you have him) in an aggravate team is one of Yae's best teams right now. You can easily throw in Sucrose Lisa or Nahida in to the flex slots that usually have either Kazuha or Fischl and have a pretty good team for abyss.
Here’s one issue with not pulling for Baizhu -
People now have the full right to ask you “Are you going to pull for X on Y account?”

That would probably depend on the characters around his rerun. If there's more anticipated catalyst users them yeah baizhu would be skipped again.
Kokomi will likely rerun in 3.8 as well so it's pretty soon.

Your decision not to pull for Baizhu makes sense, given what characters you have and what you need.
Baizhu is a great dendro applicator off-field, and even if you don't care about that, having another healer would be incredibly useful for the account.

Well...Coming from current Baizhu main... In my opinion... The trial run did him dirty... He Is pretty much insane healer for my team. After getting him He replaced Zhongli in my team. But if you ever want try some Fun thing... Baizhu with Yanfei Is crazy. Since Baizhu Is buffing burning reaction based on his HP and his dendro application with his Burst Is... Not as good as Nahida but still decent. And enough for lots of things.
Kokomi And Baizhu... Both Are great And good in their specific things.
Baizhu Is amazing with his teamwide heal on E And with prototype Amber he can heal whole team on his Q too. Other thing Is being flexible on dendro application and not being tied to place.
Meanwhile Kokomi is bit more consistent with lower heal for longer time with teamwide healing on her Q it require her to stay on field but thanks to her dmg not being nothing like Baizhu (mine Is on lvl 8 normal attack on healer build about 500 without reaction).
The choice Is still yours but I hope you can look bit more into how Baizhu work because comparing him with Kokomi... I don't like it because even through they are both healers their usage and gameplay Is completely different.
Nobody's application is a good as Nahida's this is just a dumb comparison because she's overtuned.

Since I've Nahida, I felt no reason to pull for any other dendro character specifically since she applies enough Dendro for my team. Plus, I use Dendro Traveler consistently as well so that solves my various dendro teams easily (alongside having a few other Dendro 4 stars/Tighnari). I understand why not pulling for Baizhu is what Java would go with. That said, Baizhu's healing is pretty good so if you're ever lacking a better Dendro healer, I pulling for Baizhu in the future would be a good idea. ♡
i would still recommend pulling for baizhu on this account for a few big reasons:
1. content, new catalysts are free content for this account which is otherwise dead then there's patches with no catalyst users
2. dendro and baizhu are insanely generic and can go in basically any team except mono hydro and mono geo
3. you have lisa and a few other characters that can work great with baizhu on a second team besides your nahida yae hyperbloom, so you do have options.
Java you should pull for Baizhu because if you do get him you should a team with him Barbara Lisa and maybe sucrose for aoe and replace Barbara with Kokomi so you can have buffs and heals on the yae team and shields and heals on the baizhu team if you don’t get them just pull out the old credit card
Take out sucrose and put nahida for resonance

as someone who kinda mains kokomi and has used her build on barbara before, having barbara be at around 36k max hp is actually quite normal even if it doesn't feel like a lot. i run a 4pc clam set with a healing bonus off piece with prototype amber btw so basically the same as you, java

eh i have baizhu at c1 and while he’s a ridiculous healer, he’s gonna be very meh for the account. the best route for you is probably to save for kokomi and the supposed cryo catalyst that is supposedly coming out in fontaine. baizhu’s great, yes but he’s gonna collect dust in spellsonly. i hope you don’t let some of the folks here pressure you into pulling for him, especially when as a new character, he has a better chance of rerunning again than someone like kokomi.

15:30 Honestly, Baizhu doesn't make that domain any less painful lol. His weak shield + shield breaking mechanics barely helps with the interrupt resist and HP drain.

Biggest lost u can have, baizhu is best healer at c1 he has 2 E that heals every member in my team for 15k each and the burst heals aroung 7k 6 times for 42k one char + a shield

@@elyonoyle nope Kokomi still has much more healing, more dmg and Hydro is more universal. I don't think people generally underestimate him, he's great. Its unfortunate too that Baizhu's E heal is so delayed :/.
I dont wanna start drama or anything but really , i wouldnt really say shield , in his trial it got pretty easily and quickly broken. So not much of a win for the shields (for heals yes shields not really)

I feel like ive seen people talk about replacing barbara with baizhu (so Yae, Nahida, Koko and Baizhu) but people are failing to remember that you can overproduce blooms. Only a set amount of blooms/hyperblooms can damage an enemy at any one time, so you're better off having more electro and hydro production, making more of an electrocharge-hyperbloom hybrid. To summarise: Java is doing the right thing for his account
Also I think they kinda forget that Nahida is a power house already when it comes to dendro application. Like I do her E and then I see no application of anything but dendro for a long while :'D
@PepiiChu exactly! Like honestly if you have nahida and you're feeling like you're lacking in dendro application, she's an excellent driver. Swapping a but between her and Yae (when their ICD is still in cooldown for example) would do just fine, at least until he has enough characters to fill out the more important slots like Kokomi and has the primos to waste on characters like Baizhu that have less value for this specific account

It is absolutely okay to say "I want kokomi over baizhu." What I think is really bad here, as a genshin content creator is that you didnt do any research on baizhu and don't understand his move set at all. Or rather that you are blatantly putting out misinformation about his move set. Just because you don't want a character, doesn't mean that you should put out misinformation about it.

As someone who used Mona in a hyperbloom team, Kokomi is a faaar better choice. Mona has poor off-field application and it drove me mad, so I can understand waiting for her
although he uses both mona and barbara. which is enough to fill the gap. Plus not like the hyperbloom team is going good since yae is not full em invested, so its not that bad for hyperbloom to be less invested. Ironically enough, because of baizhus passive, he literally...MIGHT be better in this specific hyperbloom team than kokomi since he buffs hyperbloom and this team could use that while kokomi would provide just....a lil more hydro app.
also i thinkkkkk this is just his bias to kokomi, since he loves her in her main account. Dont blame honestly, a big comfort character, just like zhongli.
i like baizhu a lot but that doesnt mean that everyone has to lol, and he is pretty niche. The vast majority of my built characters are centered around hyperbloom and nilou bloom, so for me another dendro healer was a really worthwhile investment, especially for nilou bloom since our only other option currently in yaoyao.
(Yaoyao has also served me well, but she does need a few seconds on-field for her burst to heal while baizhu can heal with his burst off field. Baizhu also offers some off field dendro application which has come in handy with nilou on field)
14:58 especially if you consider that, during the first few patches, a solid 60-70% of all characters needed talent mats from that domain, and it's even more painful if you don't have leveled characters/artifacts. Each of the debuffs/enemies individually would've already made that domain annoying, but all of them combined really makes me wish unspeakable things upon whoever designed it, as well as whoever looked at that design and thought "Yup, we should definitely implement this, players will love farming this endlessly!"

Well… I understand your logic, but I think most of us watch the challenge to see you collect all of the characters of the weapon type. Your own rule was if they’re a catalyst, you pull for them. Of course nobody can force you to like a character, but it seems a bit counterintuitive to the challenge since characters will continue to be released who may synergize well with characters you neglect to pull.

It was just disappointing since the bulk of the content for these series is the pulling. I dont really tune in just to see him farming, I want to see him test out all of the new catalysts to his ability.
