For a wine palette it should have been more red purple. I also dislike how the shimmers are all pretty warm but the mattes are much cooler. Its a huge pet peeve of mine in purple palettes
I agree with what you said. Not all wine is purple. And they really needed some light show stopping colors. For me that is what sells it because I where a light sparkly shade on my lid like 99% of the time.
You summed up my thoughts exactly! I love purple, but this palette... Just ain't it. The mattes are too repetitive and lack a dark shade, the gold and red don't fit in, and the shimmers dont have enough range. I would have swapped the red for an eggplant and the gold for a lilac or iridescent, for sure. The bright indigo is the most interesting color in the palette by far. I never thought I'd say this about a purple palette, but I might actually destash this one. Flight Club is all-around better, minus that indigo blue. Chocolate Martini and Dirty Martini are *chefs kiss* tho, especially the dimensional shimmers
I'm glad I got to see you try this palette. I wasn't sure about it and now I'm glad I didn't pick it up. What's the best purple palette (s) worth trying in your opinion?
I've actually really enjoyed the looks that I've created with the Wine palette and it doesn't really bother me about the name and the color story not matching. I also super love having that gold shimmer in there. I love the combination of gold with purple. I think it can create some really pretty looks. So I've been really happy with the palette so far, but that's my personal opinion.
Looking forward to the dirty martini review!! Do you think you might be able to do comparison swatches of dirty martini with the ace beaute tropical vibes palette, since they both have grungy greens and came out at a similar time??
I still need to get the Chocolate and Dirty Martini ones and now the Mikayla is back in stock I want that too but I also want the Oden's Eye Legendary Diversa collection and want that more so will probably go for those first
Yay!!! I have been going back an forth about this... it seems like actually fairly unique for a purple palette, I love those vibrant deep tones, and some pastels for blending out. I am not much for shimmer in palettes because I am obsessed with single shadows but even these look pretty. At least better than my dry ass ice cream palette shades!! You’re my favorite indie blogger Amy you’re the best! You and @badtothebrow 💖💖
Oh thanks for the review! I really want the chocolate martini! I hope you can play with it more and that you are not so disappointed by the purple palette :(
I am glad that I didn’t purchase this one, despite my love for purple. I agree with you that they should have put lighter shimmers as well, and the colors aren’t really wine inspired. They could have done more red/burgundy, maybe a champagne color to represent white white, maybe a good mid tone pink for rose etc. I guess it’s good I got the dirty martini palette instead!
We love a lil Amy matchy matchy moment🤗💜 Before Devinah's Black Friday sale this month could you possibly please do an updated swatching all your Devinah shadows and give any updated thoughts on them and your recommendations?💗
If they had of done a few green/goldy shades in here to represent “white” wine I think I would’ve enjoyed the colour story more however I do still love it and can’t wait to get my hands on it when it arrives 😂
However I have lots of purple shadows so I think this will be a GREAT companion palette. Especially to my blood lust palette (I know you don’t like j* lol but tbh that palette didn’t have enough of what I wanted so I think the two will be great together)
When i first saw this palette i was so excited but the more i looked at it the less i liked it , it just has to many shades that look the same and the shimmers all seemed a little dark. I'm glad i didn't purchase it but i did get the chocolate one and i love it.
Funny enough, I have the same feeling about the purple palette that menagerie came out with this year. I thought I would love it but I just don't find myself drawn to the color story. I'm considering decluttering it. Glad I did not invest in the Glamlite one.
I still haven’t played with this one. I got all four and I’ve only played with the neutral pallet so far. But I love purples now I’m worried. Like you I’m always on the quest to find the best purple palette
You're totally right... this did not give wine vibes imo either. I think of deep red when I hear "wine" so couple more burgundy type shades, even shimmers, would have fit in and offered variety. Four of those midtone purple shades look the same when swatched. Disappointing. 🍷😑
Purple is my favorite color ,but of the 4 this is the one I want the least, even before watching reviews. I don't like neutrals usually, but I want the chocolate palette 2nd to the Dirty Martini.
I have the Chocolate Martini palette and it's a really good neutral palette, the quality was good as well, the skimmers are really vibrant. I'm not a fan of the color purple so this one was a pass for me. I see what you mean about how some of the colors are to close to each other, for someone who likes purple this isn't too bad.
I reviewed the Margarita palette and felt the same! But I feel like I’m being gaslit because everyone’s been raving, and I didn’t have that great of an experience 😂 I’m sorry it was only a C for you but it does make me feel less crazy 😝
Well damn. I have the Makayla palette, only GL palette i own, and haven't tried it yet. Bummer that it's a different formula than the rest of the line. I was planning to grab this and the chocolate martini palette but now im rethinking it. Might go back to my original though of grabbing some of their og palettes.
Oh I wonder if the green is bad too then :/ Maybe when you do that one you can say whether you prefer the new ace beaute green palette or the glamlite?
You’re not being picky: I’m such a huge fan of purple and thought I’d be head over heels. It’s great, but not spectacular. Love the shimmers but I wish that gold shade was a light pink iridescent shade. I’ve found the mattes work a lot better packed on, from light to dark.
Hey Sweet Amy. I still L💜VE the way you look in purple. And it looks beautiful. I can totally see where your coming from as far as repetitive looking shades.
I actually like all four palettes, but I have a lot of palettes and have no problem going into other palettes if I need to. However, if I did not have other palettes, this wouldn't be the purple palette I bought first.
I am so back and forth on this palette. Cool toned purples are my favourites but the lack of contrast and the new matte formula put me off. I think perhaps the theme of this collection held it back? It's not very wine-themed to start with but additional lighter or darker shades would be even less 'wine'.
I'm more interested in mattes than I am in shimmers, and these look incredibly fiddly to work with. Especially on mature eyelids, I need matte shadows that are effortless to blend and this ain't it. Thanks for the honest review!
I disagree over the gold shade because white wines are very popular as well so I think it was smart of them to do something to represent a white wine. On the flipside I’m a new subscriber here and I wore this palette today and my eyes are stinging me so badly I wanted to see reviews on TH-cam to see what people are saying. I washed my face about a half hour ago and my eyes are still stained from the pigment and my one eye is itchy. I want to walk around tonight like I’m winking at everyone so yeah….not certain I should use it again…
I feel like I already own these colours from menagerie. I think they missed the mark with this own. The other pallets in the collection seem less monochromatic. This could have been a red, purple, pink, champagne pallet.
I just thought about this idea after seeing an IG post. Didn't you say in this video that you're on the hunt for the perfect purple palette, so why not make it with your singles? Why be disappointed with brands and not "be your own brand" making palettes for yourself? Just an idea and a video on this would be cool. No pressure though.
It should be called the artificial grape palette instead (I did just think of that name). I guess I sound harsh, but it is like grape with kid drinks and candy honestly. Glamlite hasn't put out a palette for me and probably won't. I find I have so many depotted singles and actual singles that I really have about any palette that comes out unless it is a warm-toned palette (not my thing), so I dupe (usually with a twist) any palette that catches my eye.
I was disappointed by this color story, I didn't look at it and think wine. Wine would have like deep burgundy, red shades and the yellow/oranges for the white wine. This was mostly one shade of grape.
For a wine palette it should have been more red purple. I also dislike how the shimmers are all pretty warm but the mattes are much cooler. Its a huge pet peeve of mine in purple palettes

Have you tried Lunar Lavender from Kaleidos? It’s one of my most used palette 🤩
@@Mostlymatte I haven't but I'll definitely check it out! Thank you!
Beauty Bay Christmas palette Age of Opulence has lots of beautiful purples x
I've actually really enjoyed the looks that I've created with the Wine palette and it doesn't really bother me about the name and the color story not matching. I also super love having that gold shimmer in there. I love the combination of gold with purple. I think it can create some really pretty looks. Just a little tidbit, but I have the mikayla palette and it is pretty, but the mattes are very patchy and I think that's what Amy is trying to tell ya
Yay!!! I have been going back an forth about this... it seems like actually fairly unique for a purple palette, I love those vibrant deep tones, and some pastels for blending out. Oh thanks for the review! I really want the chocolate martini! I hope you can play with it more and that you are not so disappointed by the purple palette :(
Would you consider doing a palette redesign / your own version of this palette with your singles ?
I am glad that I didn’t purchase this one, despite my love for purple. I agree with you that they should have put lighter shimmers as well, and the colors aren’t really wine inspired. They could have done more red/burgundy, maybe a champagne color to represent white white, maybe a good mid tone pink for rose etc. I guess it’s good I got the dirty martini palette instead!

i agree with your critique about the color story but i still love the shades and cannot wait to play with it! should arrive next week :D

I had wanted to try GlamLite for along time so I finally did with the wine palette and cake. Love it so far. Was curious about your thoughts.
Ty for the HONESTY!
I love this palette! I got this one and the Dirty Martini, both are great.
That description of the mattes is something I get because I have that same experience with a different purple palette.
Funny enough, I have the same feeling about the purple palette that menagerie came out with this year. I thought I would love it but I just don't find myself drawn to the color story. I'm considering decluttering it. Glad I did not invest in the Glamlite one.
I so like that palettes color story
An Amy BYOP wine palette video would be super fun! Love your content.
I still haven’t played with this one. I got all four and I’ve only played with the neutral pallet so far. But I love purples now I’m worried. Like you I’m always on the quest to find the best purple palette
Thanks for helping me talk myself out of this palette… At this point I really shouldn’t be getting another purple palette unless it’s A+ quality
I think the ABH Norvina volume 5 is the perfect purple palette :D
I love the shades. I've never tried glamlite.
Hi Amy.. That's sounds like a video.. If I could make the Glamlite Grape wine palette over.. this is what it would be.. 👍🥰🥰🥰💯💯
So agree with your review. Loving your vids!
You're totally right... this did not give wine vibes imo either. I think of deep red when I hear "wine" so couple more burgundy type shades, even shimmers, would have fit in and offered variety. Four of those midtone purple shades look the same when swatched. Disappointing. 🍷😑

I'm not a fan of the color purple so this one was a pass for me. I see what you mean about how some of the colors are to close to each other, for someone who likes purple this isn't too bad.
I would like to see a video on your favorite purple palettes maybe because I love purple but I still don't have a monochromatic purple palette
I reviewed the Margarita palette and felt the same! But I feel like I’m being gaslit because everyone’s been raving, and I didn’t have that great of an experience 😂 I’m sorry it was only a C for you but it does make me feel less crazy 😝
I would love an Amy sweater weather Instagram series where you make eye looks to match sweaters in your wardrobe 👀
Second video where you pull out that Colourpop palette, now I want it even more 😅😅
Guys help.. this vs Norvina 1 or 5. For dark skin tone which should I get?
I was just telling my husband about this palette like 5 seconds ago 🤯🥰
Well damn. I have the Makayla palette, only GL palette i own, and haven't tried it yet. Bummer that it's a different formula than the rest of the line. I was planning to grab this and the chocolate martini palette but now im rethinking it. Might go back to my original though of grabbing some of their og palettes.
Can you do a comparison video with all the new Drinks palettes to other Glamlite palettes you already own please
Oh I wonder if the green is bad too then :/
Maybe when you do that one you can say whether you prefer the new ace beaute green palette or the glamlite?
You’re not being picky: I’m such a huge fan of purple and thought I’d be head over heels. It’s great, but not spectacular. Love the shimmers but I wish that gold shade was a light pink iridescent shade. I’ve found the mattes work a lot better packed on, from light to dark.
Purple is really pretty on you.
Hey Sweet Amy.
I still L💜VE the way you look in purple. And it looks beautiful. I can totally see where your coming from as far as repetitive looking shades.
Dang Amy I love your honesty but it seems you are really hard to impress haha I would love a video from you discussing your favorite formulas !
Hmmm... It almost seems like they didn't put enough binder in the matte shades and that's why they didn't stick well and just buffed away?
You stole the words out of my mouth! I think the palette is soooo sooo cute BUT it's not what I think of when I think of wine... 🍷🥲
I actually like all four palettes, but I have a lot of palettes and have no problem going into other palettes if I need to. However, if I did not have other palettes, this wouldn't be the purple palette I bought first.
You read my mind I totally need a lighter doesn't periwinkle shade
I feel like for a wine palette it would have be nice to see a pink, red, green, pale yellow and purple color story.
I am so back and forth on this palette.
Cool toned purples are my favourites but the lack of contrast and the new matte formula put me off.
I think perhaps the theme of this collection held it back? It's not very wine-themed to start with but additional lighter or darker shades would be even less 'wine'.

I picked up the green palette. Thought the purple palette would make a great sister palette( at first) . Now It’s a pass.
I love purples so much but this could have easily been a 9-pan. I have yet to try the brand, we shall see what the future holds.
Dang this is sad ;-; i was exited for that palette i love purple eyeshadows
I disagree over the gold shade because white wines are very popular as well so I think it was smart of them to do something to represent a white wine. I feel like they went "well wine comes from grapes, so let's make a grape palette!". Which uh.. fine. But then call it a grape juice palette lol
I feel like I already own these colours from menagerie. I think they missed the mark with this own. The other pallets in the collection seem less monochromatic. This could have been a red, purple, pink, champagne pallet.
Really curious to know what's your favourite purple palette?
:( That sucks. I'm glad being judgemental saved me some money!!!
For the price of $10 to $15 dollars it is good
I didn't buy the wine palette. I don't wear purples often enough, and have other Glamlite palettes that contain purple shades.
💜💜💜💜
The gold shade is for white wine 😆😆😆
Even the shimmers look disappointing. Kinda lackluster
I’m so glad I skipped this. I have a bunch of purple leaning palettes.
Ehhhh. . . . When I see this palette I don't think of wine. . . . At all. 😑
It should be called the artificial grape palette instead (I did just think of that name). I guess I sound harsh, but it is like grape with kid drinks and candy honestly. I was disappointed by this color story, I didn't look at it and think wine. Wine would have like deep burgundy, red shades and the yellow/oranges for the white wine. This was mostly one shade of grape.
I hope glamlite isn't switching to the mikayla palette formula like permanent. If so im not here for that
Your French pronunciation hurts my ears 😣😣😣😭😭
