I Had NO IDEA a New Pump Would Be This Much Better!

  • I purchased a new pump to use for irrigation since our old trash pump doesn't put out much pressure to power the large rain gun sprinklers I purchased this year. I was shocked at how much the new pump increased the sprinkler's reach.

I would bet that with a decent pressure tank, a solar pump, and some zone timers, you could cover all of those trees automated with drip…

If you got a 150 or 200 series gun and a pto pump and engine you could really cover some ground with them the 200 is maxed out at about 300ish feet. The new pump seems to have more pressure and your sprinkler is shooting farther and has more stream atomization.

Thanks for the info. This year we got lucky and hardly had to irrigate at all. I'll probably look for a bigger pump in the future as I know my little 2" pumps aren't the best for this application.

92 foot head requires 40 psi, so now you are running 50 psi. The big question will be answered on your next test is... can you still get good pressure running two sprinklers. Looking forward to hearing/seeing it. Good luck!
