I could not size down in GS Leo last boots. I needed to go true to size (Brannock) and even increase in width to avoid a somewhat uncomfortable break-in period.
Nice to see you talking about Grant Stone. I've been interested in this Jungle Kangaroo makeup for awhile, and plan to purchase a pair. I have the Rust Kangaroo and am very pleased with the comfort and build quality. I go half-size-down on Grant Stone and it works very well.
I'm a 9.5e on the Brannock. Needed a 9.5e in the Diesel. Tried different widths in 9 and either my big toe or small toes were jammed against the side of the boot. I need a 9.5e in the AE Higgins Mill and Alden Indy. I can live with a 10 in Oak Street, Parkhurst, and Wolverne 1K. Hope that helps someone.
I like my rugged boots and my "fancy" Grant Stone boots. Also have a pair of Parkhurst which are also excellent as well as my Truman boots which I prefer over the pacific northwest boots (which are too heavy for me). Redwings are usually my everyday boots, big fan of the Iron Ranger.
When I first started watching your videos I thought you were kinda goofy. I've totally turned the page. I dig you and your videos. You're an interesting sincere dude. Peace out brother.
Ha! I am goofy. 40 years of working hard labor will make you that way! I also realize that being smart & strong doesn’t need to give you a big ego, it gives you a responsibility to your world. You nailed me spot on, even people who meet me in person go through that process. They really don’t think that I’m for real at first. Thanks for watching! Blessing to you & yours!!!!!!
I own these! My first well made boots. I’ve had them for a year and a half. I went half size down, E. Perfect for me. You know they’re rugged because Ive worn them to work hundreds of times… bartending 👌
I like fancy boots as much as the next guy, but I pretty much sworn off lined boots, I'm hooked to feeling the roughout of fancy smooth leathers. And in roughout boots, you already have the smooth side inside. That said, that kangaroo leather looks pristine.
Grandtone makes a very high quality boot. They use more premium materials than Alden/AE. Not paperboard, etc. What’s important is their Double QC Check. They are QCd in China and then again in Michigan. Not sure I’ll call these fancy, but desire a solid casual boot that you can dress up.
Hey brother, just wanted you to know that Xiamen is pronounced - ‘she ah men’. Hope that you don’t mind my correction. Otherwise this is a really informative video. ✌🏻
Beautiful boot! Grant Stone really makes good looking boots

You have great taste. I’m trying to get over my construction worker mentality, ha!

GS also uses leather in places the others use leatherboard and filler.

I like lined boots, but the lining can wear through, so although not as soft inside, I think that you are right, & yes the Kangaroo is amazing
