Wakanda Forever was/is a bait and switch. Introducing a strong and powerful Black King (something the black community sorely needed) and replacing it with girl power where BM are either dead or in the background was nothing less than a complete betrayal by Coogler, Moore, and Disney/Marvel. A comment on T'Hasan Johnson's review captured this perfectly.......someone painted my Black Panther toy pink!

So don't be surprised because the majority of who direct that commercial ship follow or prescribe to the backward worldly view of what family should be and the rules required to keep stability within a two parent home (or one parent, preferably, according to today's ungodly standards). I saw this movie on Monday night and like a lot of people I thought it was a disgrace. First, all the Black Men the film was either nonexistent or emasculated when they did show up. Winston Duke’s character M-Baku was a perfect example of this. Second, all the Black Women in the film for the most part was either masculine, A-sexual or androgynous at best. Here, one of the few exceptions was Angela Bassett’s character- the queen; she looked and acted real like a woman. Third, the movie was pretty much over for me when Angela Bassett’s character was unnecessarily killed off. Here, for the first hour of this movie she was the only person keeping this film together. Finally, Namor the villain in film got away with an awful lot and paid no price for it in the end. He came into the country uninvited trying to blackmail them, he kidnapped the princess, he attacked the country, and he killed the queen. Again, in the end he paid no price for any of this; he simply walked away and went back home. Again, this film was a disgrace.

Everyone is focusing on the Dora like come one their the Dora Milage, not sure what everyone was expecting.

The success of BP:WF is tantamount to the BLM movement. Both gained momentum and made millions off of the death of black men, whilst at the same time attempting to remove them from the equation all together.
Do you honestly think BP:WF would have had the same opening weekend numbers if Shurri would have been BP from the very beginning with no T’Challa at all?….I think not!!

Part of me believes that even if Boseman never died, they most likely still would've emasculated T'Challa. I mean if they turned OGs like Thor, Hulk, and Bucky into jokes in P4 it wouldn't seem far fetched if they ended up doing that to T'Challa too. Glad Boseman isn't alive to see what they did to effeminize the BP sequel smh

Great video. All of your points were the same as the ones I have been making. Honestly, they should have recast T'challa. They recast every other hero. They just recast Thunderbolt Ross with Harrison Ford. They should have stuck closer to the source material and just had T'challa injured as he was in the comics. He could have been placed in the stasis chamber and given plastic surgery to explain his different look. It's sad that people allowed themselves to be hoodwinked by Disney into thinking they were honoring Chadwick by not recasting when the truth is back in May of 2018,when Chadwick was still alive and the movie was still in the theater, Nate Moore told Ryan not to be comfortable with T'challa being the Black Panther, it is just a mantle and anyone can be the Black Panther 🤦🏾‍♂️ They already had this planned but people are too ignorant to do the research for themselves.

You're spot on! I've worked in Hollywood for nearly 30 years now and there is a definite agenda to disempower the black man. In countless screenplays I've always had to go into studio meeting for what I would call the "ritualized castration of the black man." The greatest power that the movies have is the power to "inspire." From the movies all black boys get is the idea that they will die. All the Kings of Wakanda, die. Hollywood doesn't what want young black boys imagining themselves growing up to be T'Challa they want them growing up fearing they will become Emmitt Till!

I compare the death of T’Challa (NOT Chadwick) to the death of James Evans in Good Times. Yes, the show continued, but it was definitely not the same. Also, with the first film being so father/son centric (T’Challa dealing with the lose of his father & Kilmonger growing up without his), I just can’t see the character of (King) T’Challa having a son & not only not raising him but not marrying the woman Nakia……….AND his mother being alright with it!! I place a lot of the responsibility on Ryan Coogler. He said himself that he wanted to highlight Black Women “holding it down” like they do in our communities. Just like in the film Creed. Although he had nothing to do with the death of Apollo, the film was based on a young black man growing up without his father. Now young Prince T’Challa will be growing up without his (& being raised by him Mom & Aunt), just like Kilmonger grew up without his.
What I think the film should have been about was T’Challa & Nakia married & raising their son. T’Challa does die & now the film turns into a battle over the boy……The Bloodline! Everyone wants to shield him while Shuri wants to prepare him!!! She can eventually put the suit on to protect her nephew until he is ready. Meanwhile, Prince T’Challa is left with all the wisdom, knowledge & nurturing his father King T’Challa instilled in him.
    Just my two cents!

The Queen, bringing Killmonger back not condoning but understanding his actions and what caused to them, as T’Challa confronted his father about that decision to just leave Killmonger as a boy in that environment instead of bringing him home to Wakanda, would have been in line with the first movie. Now Killmonger has to face the burden and the reality of actually being the protector of a whole nation while understanding Namra wanting to take to fight to the world as he once did. This would have been a complex story of Killmonger as being redeemer, protector, voice of reason to Namar after some physical correction of course, then being tasked to be a guide, mentor, and father figure to T’Challa's son preparing him to be protector and King of Wakanda, coming full circle mending the mistakes of his Father and Uncle which began with T’Challa saving him in the first movie setting up this opportunity for redemption.

This breakdown is done from somebody with their eyes all the way open as far this goes. the veil is thin and we can see what they are doing if you watch. I wonder what Stan Lee would have thought about this as the creator of the character. The MCU is not Marvel I grew up with. We have to understand this. Thank you for shining a spotlight on all this! The mcu needs a new lead and casting Killmonger as a redeemed black man really helps support the black culture we live today.

Had they had some angle where they got through to a Killmonger from 2012 rather than 2018 they might have gotten through to him then. 6:47 dear God make it stop! I'm telling you this is so cringe and embarrassing. First of all I think some of these reactions are staged, the other ones look partly authentic and just sets the stage for another instance where Outsiders to the black experience look in and cringe for us being so shallow, gullible, and easy to distract with useless symbolism. 😵‍💫

What about introducing Hector Alaya and/or Kasper Cole for more black male/Latin male representation if there was a chance to change something form BP2WF?! Lol, that's my suggestion or alternative and make a story where Kasper Cole temporarily becomes BP while Shuri assumes the throne, given she is Wakandan, Kasper Cole isn't, but the only problem is, would an artificial heart shape herb work on Kasper Cole to give him powers similar to the authentic heart shaped herb too, but just a "dumb down version" cause the herb should only work for Wakandians particularly and don't want to add comic book lore, considering mcu does its own thing anyways and ignores lots of canon stuff for the directors and writers take on the lore

You are absolutely right, Sir! There is an obvious AGENDA in Hollywood. There is so much propaganda out there it ain’t even funny! The anti-male, woke, feminist, I’m not homophobic but the Super, over the top, support and representation of all that is LGBTQ in all of these movies, tv shows and commercials is unbelievable! Black Panther should have been re-casted and Denzel Washington’s son, John David Washington would have been perfect! Showing men as weak and more feminine, while making women more masculine is what’s been happening and is totally ASS BACKWARDS! Go ahead and add (John Stewart), as another character to admire who was BLACK and one of the most POWERFUL Green Lanterns!

M'Baku never should have called Okoye a bald-headed demon. I'm not talking about the statement being misogynistic, but because it showed M'Baku letting her disrespect hurt his feelings. Your decisions as a leader should not be dictated by emotions. Anyway, name-calling is the lowest form of debate.

Tbh didn't we get enough of the Women King movies? It's sad that they don't want to highlight black men, only black girl magic. Black men are the punching bags for all races and genders, especially if you are angry. Strong men make easier times, easier times make weak men, then the cycle repeats. Be strong, Men.

  • @OutsidetheQube

My only issue which is small, but does hold weight as your video intelligently points out. You call killmonger a misguided thug at 11:09 . He actually served his country , fought and killed people for his country , albiet to kill T'challa and ultimately to have his chance to be king. But never a thug. But I'll chalk it up to your misconception, Much respect keep upbthe good work👍🏿

    • @n26061983

Killmonger was a great modern day villain/anti-hero who actually had an interesting and complex backstory to explore. They totally could have given him a redemption arc that reunited him and reconciled him with his African heritage and people. But no, instead the director decided to have T'challa repeat the mistakes of his father Tchaka and essentially kill his own brother, instead of trying to find a way to redeem him. I'll never understand why black people have such self hatred and loathing for themselves and their community, to the point where they allow all forms of media to exploit and promote the most negative aspects of the black experience

    • @WereGururumon
      @WereGururumon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@OutsidetheQube “even though you come off as conservative”- that can be interpreted as a good or bad thing, so why even point that out? Nothing you said went over my head, in fact that is why I left a question mark… you know as in I’m asking a question. I actually don’t look at either side being good vs the other being bad, however it seems as though you are projecting. Also I put in parentheses that I wasn’t speaking specifically about you. See if you would have took the time to fully read what I wrote, I wouldn’t have to break down every little thing I said. Now, is there anything else you are unclear about? If not please answer the first question I asked.

Many of us black women rejected this woke Black Panther 2 movie for this very reason. We need our strong black men. We need them back in the homes and communities. We need them as positive role models for our children. Their is no future without them. How could they do this to us? It's time for us to take a stand together black men and black women. I will not support anyone or anything that tears down our people or divides us as a race. We must move forward together. I hope they realize that we aren't buying into this we are strong black women; we don't need a man BS anymore. They keep hammering this misconception. WE DO NEED YOU BLACK MEN. I hope more of us will start telling the truth about it.
