So we decided we had to do another edition of the game movie with all the relevant side missions and the true ending. Usually, games extra content doesn't add up to much more story, but after we finished this one we saw it was absolutely necessary to do a complete version of the game movie. One of the best games of the year by far.
Great Job as always with these Game Movie videos 👍Ones I am still looking forward to this year are Star Wars Outlaws, Space Marine 2, Black Ops 6, and Dragon Age Veilguard (will be interesting to see what choices you make in this one compared to me).
Bajie admires Taiyin Xingjun (not Chang'e), and the attendant he encountered on the way was indeed called Chang'e (Chang'e is a title; all attendants of Taiyin Xingjun are named Chang'e). When Jade Emperor and Taiyin Xingjun were having a secret meeting, Tianpeng (Bajie's celestial name) stumbled upon them and was subsequently demoted to the mortal world. This particular Chang'e, who could not forget Tianpeng, descended to the mortal world as a spider spirit. The demoted Bajie, while at Gao Village, mistook Gao Cuilan for Chang'e and pursued her. However, when Gao Cuilan saw Bajie's true form, she was terrified. On their journey west, they reached the Spiders' Cave, where the reincarnated purple spider recognized Bajie immediately. They fell in love, and Bajie released the purple spider during this ordeal. The purple spider bore Bajie's daughter and waited for him until she grew old. Because of that mistaken identity, the purple spider said before dying, "You're still as foolish as before" (referring to his mistake), also indicating that Old Pig did not dare to acknowledge them for fear of retribution from the Heavenly Court. Even someone as powerful as his Monkey Brother was killed by the Heavenly Court. Niú Wáng, a powerful ruler in his own territory, faced family destruction and separation merely because of his connection with the Chosen One. How could a small place like the Spiders' Cave resist the Heavenly Court? Bajie does not have the abilities of his senior brother nor the power of Niú Wáng. If he turned back, he would not be able to love her; if he turned around, it would harm her. Therefore, Bajie could not acknowledge her; he must not. Determined to help the Chosen One, even if he fails, he would only need to sacrifice his own life, without involving his beloved. The love he can offer by holding on is letting go.
Do you understand the story in Black Myth? Like is there some connection between it and other literature? From what I understood the point in the original story was supposed to be that even this magical monkey born from the Heavenly and Earthly essence couldn't escape Buddha even after he mastered the Daoist Way. Is the concept supposed to present the idea that Wukong can best Buddha using a reincarnation loophole by 'playing his own game' ? Does Buddha have to let his new body decide his fate by his actions, and this new body can no longer be forced to fulfill the punishment set upon his old body? If the idea is that he would continue to practice ways which would upset the heavens then Buddha would just punish him all over again. He can never escape that. I also don't really get how a new body could possibly compare to Wukong's body which was created from literal divine magic. The origin story for this monkey just seems like he was yet another born on the mountain but under normal circumstances. I really like how they did the game but I would have totally guessed the chapters would have been laid across 2 planned games, where the first is covering the young "Handsome Monkey King" and him acquiring his weapon and armor etc.. then playing him through his exploits up until an undecided battle with Erlang where it ultimately leads to a battle in Heaven toward the end. Then in the next game it would be Wukong being tasked with guarding Tripitaka after the 500 years with the game basically being the journey to India etc. I know it's just a game and maybe I'm overthinking the direction they went here but it just has me curious.. like where did the whole concept come from here where they wanted to kill the real Wukong.
@@Magneticitist the concept is new. Wukong attained buddhahood in stories and became one with the existence. That's the end. In this one the mind essence of wukong reincarnated as this new monkey to escape the punishing crown. And now all six senses are in this new monkey which basically gives him all the powers of wukong with no backlash of previous karma. Now, it's upto the writers if they want him to attack heavenly castle or start on a new journey. Stories buddha is an absolute ultimate. Black myth buddha might not be that absolute of a force to continue the story. Except the animation lore and the characters appearing everything is new through creative liberty. This whole concept of new monkey King is completely new. Its the same as God of war. Kratos is a new character and the other characters are from stories while being lore accurate but what they do in the game and the story is completely new. Same with black myth. New monkey is a new character and the other characters are from stories while being lore accurate but what they do in game is completely new. Story of bajie and the spider are from stories tho.
@@bu11ymaguire I guess some of the stuff that doesn't make sense to me is actually explained a little by Wukong just being too strong. I mean Kratos isn't actually different I suppose, but I don't recall Kratos actually having a literal storyline where he was impossible to injure or kill. I guess there's no point running around as the actual Wukong cause he can't lose, unless it's just a "battle" against Erlang or Buddha. Ironically though, this fake Wukong DOES beat Erlang lol.
Mad respect for The Gamer's Little Playground! Absolutely helpful. 1 thing I love about GLP doing "All Cutscenes" video, is they always put 1 to 5 scenes of an actual gameplay. More especially versus bosses. Thats entertaining! Something I wanted to see. Most other youtuber, did great job also. But straight up cutscenes to cutscenes. We are all so glad you guys got this out as soon as you could 🍻 As always, my question will be the same. How much Gigabyte of this cutscenes alone bro? Ahahaha

The mandarin dub sounds great. Also I think the british accents in the english dub are supposed to represent the posh "nobility" to their language which is some context that is lost in the english dub when compared to the mandarin one.
Does it offer deeper meaning into the histories and mythologies of Chan Buddhism (or even Taoism)? Would love to hear an even more sophisticated telling in their mother tongue!
@ADPax10 having heard the Chinese dubbed version I think it brings more nuance to the canon personality of the characters in the game (especially WuKong!) And makes it a more enjoyable gameplay experience overall. I've only just started playing the game myself so can't comment much on the plot as of yet.
1:57:00 This building is incredible!! I’ve seen pictures of the real life reference for this but yet I still can’t imagine what it’s like to witness this in person, all the details and the features. This must’ve taken up most of the game budget…
Hello bro,I love your content,i want to ask that what recorder do you use to record your prototype game,I was unable to record with obs 😢😢,pls boss tell me , thanks 🙏
This Game is definitely and totally Super Awesome, Epic, Badass and Hardcore! Thanks for all of your Hardwork and Dedication, GLP! Bet you had a Absolute Blast playing *Black Myth: Wukong* Game this year dude! I Absolutely Love the Legendary Chinese Martial Artist of the Chinese Legends, Monkey King/Sun Wukong! 😄😁👍👌🇨🇳⛩️🐲🤛🤜👊🥋🙈🙉🙊🐒
Thanks a lot!The video resolution is stunning, with the perfect game animation production , such a joy to watch it .Although some part of the story confused me a bit , but in general wht a cooooool game😂❤
But its far from over, there are still two more endings left to be unlocked and found. They say its a total of four endings, and you've only founded two. The joruney is still very far from over.
You know in chapter 3 when I first watched it I didn’t realize the difference between Yellowbrow the true Baby Buddha until I looked at their clothes! Right in front of me and I missed it! 😂
How about the next games you do is the dead rising, specifically dead rising 3 because I stopped watching after you put on the horseman hat at the beginning.

@glp oh god...thanks for the upload brother❤❤❤
i was a bit disappointed y'all didn't continue the white fox's conversation
Definitely game of the year
Top 3 minimum. Still FF7 Rebirth for me but it's close
its kinda bummer for me that Space Marine 2 has such stiff competition :( i really wanted them to win
What a nostalgia!! The ending cutscene sountrack is the 1986 journey to the west series soundtrack!!

Is This Game About The Monky King And Chinese Mythology?!
Yes.
The Monkey is Goku. The guy with the rake is Vegeta.
Yes, quite authentic to the 15th century classic
No it's actually about goku and friends going to applebees
yes
Really hope this wins some awards. It really deserves to. Chinese mythology is so cool and woefully underrepresented in western media.
Beautiful. Thank you for all your hard work, GLP!
I like that if not all of these Chinese mythology beings have british accents 😅
The mandarin dub sounds great. Also I think the british accents in the english dub are supposed to represent the posh "nobility" to their language which is some context that is lost in the english dub when compared to the mandarin one.
Excellent cinematography. Kept me engrossed all throughout.
Could not understand the story except in the generalities. I think.
Begging you to publish the chinese dubbed version as well heard its equally as amazing 🙏

Big Fan "GameBest"
What did he mean the wu kong already dead before the journey begin?
I understand less than in Dark Souls or Elden Ring.
1 hour in the video and I become bored lorewise.
I watch this like a series and look for the Chinese version as well and watch with my girlfriend so much fun and such a beautiful story🙉
FINALLY
5:00:35 nice cinematic dodges lol
I got 2 hours into the other one last night. But ok. I'll ignore that and watch this instead

This game is a masterpiece
