    The most important part is this, dekker usually dies, dont take it personally, everyone has a story.

      We must do everything we can to protect Dekker.

    Actually the blackjack can be easily modified to be awesome. Drop the 2x AC2 and install 1 AC 5 , you can almost max the armor and put in 3 heat sinks and you lose 5 damage and have a tanky mech! I call it: The One Armed Bandit because the house always wins in the long run!

    • @cobrazax
      @cobrazax 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      also the AC 5 has less short range problems, and the extra damage in 1 shot is great. AC 5 are much more effective than AC2, especially in tonnage.
      in a similar way, an AC 10 is not effective as an AC 20. it does only slightly more damage than AC 5 but costs much more in tonnage. it does way less damage than AC 20 but costs only slightly less in tonnage. it does have better range though...but i usually find the AC 20 to be more efficient in combat.

      I took a cue from the FedSuns and made a 1DB; Two large lasers, two medium lasers and six extra heat sinks.

      Yeah Blackjack was the backbone of my early game, bouncing around like a gummy bear... blasting armour off everywhere.

    The first thing i did was swapping the Vindicator's LRM5 for an LRM10 that you already have in store at the start of the campaign. I had to remove the med laser and two sinks, but it made the Vindi a very useful long range support.

      i personally changed it to have lasers and SRMs instead more firepower and less heat this way...and u can add more armor too

      @@cobrazax Legit. Did you give the long range role to a different mech or are you going all out with close fighting ?

      i tend to go for all close range as its usually much more tonnage and heat efficient.
      later i can consider adding 1 LRM boat like my stalker with 2 LRM20 and 2 LRM15.
      i add both variants of improved LRMs to each size category so i got all the options of extra damage or extra stability on each. maximum flexibility on which i want to shoot at what :D
      still early on i tend to swap most weapons for close ranges. for the BJ i usually swap the two AC2 into a single AC5 for similar damage, better up close and way less tonnage...way more armor and better heat efficiency this way as well.
      PPCs are usually EXTREMELY bad with heat efficiency so i swap them out when possible. for example when i get a panther i change it to have several SRMs and med lasers or something like that.

    removing AC5 and jump jets, maxing armor and slapping bunch of SRMs on it with meduim lasers make it a perfect brawler. probably one of my favorite mechs in the game in its class.

    Excellent video, more like this please! I've watched dozens of Battletech tutorial videos but they're all hour+ videos of people playing. You zero in on the details and show the action/outcome in a bite sized tutorial.
    Please consider doing more to explain harder to grasp concepts like vigilance, armor, weight and how each skill set works up to its max potential. Thnx in advance. Subbed.

    evasion and sensor lock are quite useless for the late game.
    bullwark, multitarget and breaching shot are the best skills hands down.

    • @cobrazax
      @cobrazax 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes...but now with coolant vent, breaching shot isnt always the best...at least not on hot mechs in hot environments.

    I have a question that's been borthering for a bit now, can you or can you not change/swap mechs?

    • @cobrazax
      @cobrazax 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i dont think u can start with different mechs in the regular campaign...only in the career mode where u can select to have randomized mechs at the start.
      if u mean swapping mechs in your drops...sure u can if u got ready to use mechs.

      @AurioDK 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      It is probably the worst of the light mechs. I used mine early on for scouting only and braced it every time it landed if the enemy was in sight, it falls very very fast. Lots of people had Dekker dying in the early stages, he became my nr. 1 killer upon the end of the campaign.

      its super squishy when hit...i rarely ever use it.
      maybe its ok with sensor lock only LOL.
      u can remove some weapons and add more armor.
      i always remove rear armor on my mechs...especially light mechs which rarely get flanked.

      Im talking about in campaign and usually on lighter mechs that rarely get flanked.
      Its dangerous but in most situations its not a problem and can give u a significant advantage.
      On heavier mechs i put more rear armor. If they are for close combat i put as much as i can allow...as they will get flanked sometimes.
