The room off the main dining room was probably a "non-smoking" area, at a time when smoking was still allowed in restaurants in Ohio. After public smoking was outlawed, it became a party room.

    Random memory:
There was a 2 story modern lodge style Burger King, with a running fireplace in the foyer/dining room.near Levittown PA. (80's)
It had to be experienced to feel how Beautifulit it was. Warm honey oak wood. ... Great Design!

Hi Wallie. You’re in my neck of the woods. That area is prone to flooding. Its always flooded there, but the past few years it seems to have gotten worse. Walmart and Sam’s Club too really take a beating. Just a ton of water. It’s pretty amazing. I didn’t know that BK didn’t reopen though. Good stuff.

I also live in that neck of the woods. My family was patrons at that location. When it really flooded, I was surprised we didn't see pontoons. A few days after the that flood the creek was flowing like raging river. It was a sight to see.

I worked at a burger king when the store had that classic look, back in 2006. By that time the chairs were all falling apart. The restaurant didn't have those spatulas. I'm guessing the drive thru menu was those that a worker had to spin around to switch from breakfast to lunch.

Funny enough I've actually been sitting on a video of this place for a long time, this area of Cleveland which is actually Brooklyn, is definitely known for flooding, Sam's Club flooded back in 2011, hence why the Sam's Club in the area got remodeled. The Raising Cane's used to be a Perkins that burned down to a fire. It's a very interesting area, good video! I know for other abandoned Burger Kings in the area, there is one in Willoughby Hills, which has a gray look to it, there's also one in Maple Heights that is completely boarded up, but underneath the door has the old Burger King logo, and I think there's a couple more, but I just can't remember most of them on my mind. I do also know there's one in Huron that used to have a Play Place

I grew up around here! I used to go to this Burger King after shopping at the Walmart over there. I always considered this area to be Brooklyn rather than Parma though, but close enough. This one closed right before I moved to Georgia, and I was surprised when I drove past it and saw the building was completely stripped. Thanks for the upload.
PS: to my knowledge, this was always a Burger King. The awning was probably from pre-blue roof days (back when the roof was brown with red and orange stripes on top). Then again, I was born in 1994, so someone else might have better information.

I live around the corner from this former Burger King. There were two floods that I can recall and I believe I read that the employees in Burger King had to be rescued using life rafts. I'm not surprised that they abandoned it in the end. The creek can be prone to overflowing after heavy rain.
Your comment about why people would have a party at Burger King was funny. I grew up in the UK and it wasn't uncommon for parents to book birthday parties for their very young kids at McDonald's. I imagine Burger King probably did something similar.

That area is built on the floodplain of Big Creek. Big Creek is normally a smaller gently flowing creek, but with a torrential downpour, it lives up to it’s name. The cities of Brooklyn and Parma and the county have tried for decades to remedy the situation. Compare these Google map images and you can see the retention basin they built in front of Walmart. goo.gl/maps/4vMhJENUqya33rH76 vs goo.gl/maps/1vsFv5D1q8a39LVD9 It helped a little but you can’t control Mother Nature and flooding still occurs several times a year. That Sam’s Club was originally built as a Makro Warehouse Club in the mid 1980’s and that was one of my first jobs. In this map image you can see how ridiculously close to the creek they built the building. goo.gl/maps/eNsj5F9oGC9QF1pE8 That Burger King was originally built as a Burger King, probably in the 1990’s and has always been a Burger King. I was sad to see it close.

Big Creek runs between Walmart and Sam's Club. During heavy rains, the Walmart parking lot, as well as nearby Brookpark Road and Big Creek Parkway, would flood big time., There have been at least a few occasions where Walmart or Sam's Club would temporarily close due to flooding, but the stores would quickly reopen once the flood waters recede and the floors are mopped.

Our Wendy's here in Uniontown flooded 1 time from the big rain storm we had last year it was as high as like not half way up the door not to bad inside a worker said it was like little bit less than knee high but it's now remodeled and no I don't like the shoe box look now it blows...

As others have mentioned, the small room was for smokers.

That looks like a '80's or '90's-built BK, except for the additional triangle up front. Still I like it better than today's SQUARE ANONYMOUS stores (makes them easier to sell to others, but doesn't look good).
3:43 Yes, Wallie, that's a BIRTHDAY ROOM, like I've seen on some McD's that doesn't have a Playplace.
I have a feeling this whole area is a FLOOD ZONE where businesses SHOULDN'T BEEN BUILT since it had happen before a few times....

Pretty much every Burger King restaurant in Cleveland is abandoned. There's maybe less than 10 that are still open.

And yes, throughout all the pandemic last year your silly antics in these videos really helped take my mind off the doom and gloom of everything, so thanks for that! Things are starting to improve a good bit, so here's to hoping that by either year's end or by next year that things start to look a little more normal again to the tune of not having to wear masks and stuff anymore...

We still have a blue-roofed Burger King and it's also the highest rated in my area, at 3.2 stars.

I hate the shoe box look of the fast food restaurants to.I wish they just kept the original style . I never saw the cool spatula door handles before. The one near me did not have those.
