    The kid that is playing Niles's son is spot on , little jabs and walks away , the little mannerisms.He has that Niles Crane character + Daphney Moon almost down to a T , I really would like to see more.

      @@yaboiharls I grew up in the 90s , this show and character is dear to my heart , the character Frasier Crane is very similar to my father ,I used to watch this show with my brother as kid , the jokes flew over my head but as I got older the show was even better , yes it did taper to the end and I think times also changed , it has Kelsey Grammer so I will give it a shot , Frasier is on its own a masterpiece , I rank it above most sitcoms , it has Rodney from only fools and horses so that's another character I grew up watching as a kid , the fact it feels like how I met your mother is a bit of drag, but thats just me .

      @@ahmedshakib3883 Same mate, I would even put it up there as the greatest comedy series of all time (just my opinion). But watched both episodes and it was painful, I would put it down to bad scripting and I would agree with most people that the father / son scenario is just repeating the dynamic. I think it's getting alot of good reviews based off sentimentality for the character, but for me I don't think I even laughed once. It's a shame.

      @@yaboiharls When I saw the trailer , I was not a fan , I loved the art deco style of his apartment , which was a character itself, Kelsey has played three of my favorite characters , he was Sideshow bob , fraiser and Beast in the x-men (3rd film) , I am willing to give it a shot , frasier introduced me to the world of literature , opera , classical music etc.I was not a fan of Sinefeld (I never got it ) the jokes never landed for me , friends was funny but frasier just oozed class , smart humor.Two of my favorite episodes was when they were in the hospital and we would see all the great moments , Freddies birth , Mrs Crane passing away , another episode was when Niles and Fraiser tried to run a restaurant, that was like me and my brother , we could never work together.

    What you got to remember is Freddie was always pushed in to being the son that Frasier & Lileth wanted him to be not what he wanted to be. In the original he rebeled by becoming a goth and was aways happier with Martin .
    He could also have more of Marty's character traits in his DNA.

      its unfortunate that we dont know anything about who lilliths family, Freddie is not a Carbon copy of Frasier, I THink his father is resolved to accept that his son is at pease doing the thing that matters to him rather then living up to his expectations, its assounding that Frasier has had to accept empathy rather then be accustomed to it.

    How ironic Freddie told his buddies at his bar that his father was dead and in "Frasier" Frasier told his buddies in "Cheers" that his father was dead too. Freddie has a difficult relationship with his father like Frasier had with his father, feeling like he is not the son his father wanted "What comes around goes around".

      The way the economy is today, most of us aren't happy with the idea that if you screw up your relationship with a child, you can just buy the apartment building the kid lives in and move across the hall and to have Frasier teach at Harvard and pretend that cute comedy will keep the students interested is just too much to accept when Harvard right now is a hotbed for political drama. You can only stretch the imagination so far.

    This started out like with Martin and his chair, only now Frasier is the father and can say no to anything he wants. Also, a reason I believe Freddy became like this is because he also spent time with Sam. Think about it, Sam spent a lot of time with him during Cheers, so it's possible he spent more with him later on. It could also explain how Freddy came up with the idea to say his dad is dead. Lastly, why isn't Fraiser at Cheers? Aside from being with his son, you would think he would want to spend some time with his friends at Cheers.

    I don't know anyone who actually place the weight bench in the living room if they have one. If you live in a small apartment/tiny house yeah otherwise, no. They are trying to force argument where there is none
    Why would Frasier buy the apartment complex where Freddy lives? I assume with Freddy's salary and the expensive rents Boston offers that Freddy doesn't live in a high end part of Boston. An upper class neighbourhood Frasier is used to. I don't see Frasier moving down/slumming with us regulars and working class.

    • @canalesworks1247
      @canalesworks1247 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Frasier is obviously trying to force the issue, because that's what Frasier does. He'd advise against doing this if a patient asked him but he always does the opposite of what he'd advise. That's why his relationships never work out.
      In this case he's remembering that he and his dad became very close because they were "forced together" because Niles wouldn't take him in.
      So Frasier buys the building and forces the issue. It's a typical Frasier move really.

    I just watched the third episode and I think I figured out what is wrong with this for me. The characters and relationships between them are unidimensional, they play one note, no nuance. The one who disappoints me most is Niles son, he should be the voice of reason with only the very occasional foray into the manic, not on every line. Perhaps they will develop them but they should hurry up, audiences are not as patient as they one were. That said, I loooved the « I’m still talking Oedipus » line. That was a classic old Frasier line.

Will it reach Frasier heights? Unsure. But will it be a worthy & honest successor and a great way to bookend the character? Most definitely. Given his profession, it's surprising that Frasier would be so tone deaf as to insist that Freddie live with him and then remove every trace of Freddie from their shared living area. He should have at least let the Fenway cube stay. Yes, Frasier is famous for not taking his own advice, but everything about this reboot is over the top and this is one example. The real Frasier would be more contemplative and less combative, especially if his goal is to reconnect with his son. (I can just envision him talking through this conundrum with his brother Niles.)
