🤔 Yeah, and according to the decals on the side it's 'only' 390hp, which is 'only' 15 more horsepower than the top stock version of the 390 would've had. That top stock 390 variant certainly didn't sound anywhere near as radical as this, and probably wouldn't be able to light up both of ^those competition tires like ^THAT! 😏👍 So, yeah, it all adds up, and I'm 100% convinced that ^this engine has 'only' 15 horsepower over stock!
I remember being in the back seat of my dad's 57 Ford 2dr he had smithys mufflers with true duals on that hot Ford column shift too. My dad will have 3 or 4 Schlitz beers.. Boy I knew the next Cruze to the store for more beers and another bag of Cheetos and a crush soda for me and my brothers... Every gear would sound off those smithy's muffler . I can remember seeing cars like this on the street in the mid 60's, before all the then muscle cars started showing up. I even remember a few cars running open headers on the street, that is until the finally wrote a law preventing that. It's only illegal is there is a law against it.
This car has ran as fast as 5.16 in the 1/8, that mustang definitely didn't out run the 57, takes a Chevy to push this big old brick down the track that fast. You can see the car run in ScottRods Gasser series based out of Ohio but travels to many tracks and many NHRA national events.
