- Taylor Swift’s new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” is set to be released Friday and speculation continues to grow over clues for lyrics, song titles and the album’s first music video. An alleged leak of the new project prompted many Swifties to ask fellow fans to respect her work and wait for the official release. NBC’s Emilie Ikeda reports for TODAY.

Yep. I hate when songs get leaked. I hate it when it happens to anyone not just Taylor.
As for that album drop, I'm ready to celebrate her. Any new project from her is worth it. She's so creative. You'll notice it more if you've been following her through her album releases. It's an eventful day. We all take time off to make room for her music and just LISTEN. I love not knowing what I'm about to listen to. That's the best part.
As for how I listen to her music: I tell my family I won't be available for 2 hours cuz Taylor is dropping by lol. I like laying on my bed and putting on my bass boost headphones and delve into her world as it's coming to me, one song at a time. Afterwards, I'm playing it outloud and singing along to it.

I have always wondered why Emilie Ikeda is the entertainment reporter rather than a political/White House/government reporter instead?
I recall only seeing a YT short seeing the names of each track, but beyond that, I’m going in completely blind, and I’m interested to see if the genre is similar to my favourite album(s) Ever/Lore

@RainyDays3 There were plenty of leaks on TikTok, even with the vinyl details being shown, lyrics, photos, and everything. Some of them were taken down (not the AI ones), which reinforced the fact that those were the actual songs.
