- Today @betsythomps and I tour all of the local hot spots in Nuwara Eliya and get a real feel of the area. We visit local tea plantations, an incredible waterfall, and an insane panoramic viewpoint. We then finish the day with a curry from Ambaals.

Perera and Sons cake is the lowest bar you can set for cakes :D You should check out some of the upscale bakeries in Colombo when you are there for some real cake.

@dunneytravels Butter Boutique probably has the best cakes. Kaffi at Crescat Mall does some really nice desserts. Seed Cafe is a amazing spot to grab a bite. Finally Isle of Gelato for some of the best Gelato you will ever have 😀.

Try the Tea Burst cafe by Monarch Imperial Hotel. 1kg Cake would cost around 5000 rupees. Definitely worth the price.
There is a place called Mrs. G's in Colombo. It has the best chocolate cake ever! It is not as fancy nor as upscale as most places, but I have loved their chocolate cake for many, many years. I believe they only do pre-ordered items, though. If you can give them a ring and order a small chocolate for yourselves, do so! They are not expensive either. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
P.S. they have a variety of desserts but go for the plain chocolate cake. It is chefs' kiss!
Visit the Grand Hotel. Queen, Hirohito, Yuri Gagarin, Nixon visited that hotel. They have pictures of everyone who visited. Just ask them.

That was a worthwhile tour of Nuwara Eliya also one of my favourite places on the island. Ambaal's is a south Indian restaurant not Sri lankan, but glad you enjoyed the food , even though I believe it is only vegetarian.
We absolutely loved Nuwara Eliya, it was so different to all of the other places in Sri Lanka we had visited. Thanks for the information 😊🇱🇰
