I studied in Roorkee, then it was University of Roorkee, from 1975 to 79. I stayed in Ganga bhawan for first two years and next two years, I was in Ravindra bhawan . The food was quite delicious and it was served on the table by butler and waiters . Music used to be played during lunch and dinner.

As Jain students dont eat Onion and garlic, so for these std. Jain food is available on daily basis. And on Navratri,hasivratri etc They seperately prepare food for those who are fasting.

The very bad thing healthwise is all food has red colour in it as it causes cancer a slow killer , health organisation had proved it no mind if you are consuming it sometimes but here you guys will eat for 4 years continuesly the result will get at the age of 40 and above. solution : Do it ...discuss with all students make an application and submit it to the head office to skip red or any sort of colour in food . stay safe baccha , just think is your home food prepared with colour ? Thanks for your msg. But Actually they take care of Food and student's health. In video their is some filters and some colour grading rffects, that is why it may look like colorful food. But it's not so.

i went to Roorkee decades ago - the facilities were not as they are now, but the food was THE BEST.
I was in IIT Roorkee from 2011 to 2014. At that time Non - Veg was not allowed at any of the hostel. But the quality of Food is always Good in IIT R.
Thank god, now the messes there are more inclusive and diverse as compared to the intolerant past.
