So very beautiful dancing! Elegant, classy, artistic, exquisite with gorgeous wardrobes and stage scene. Love Fred Astaire, his movies and his dancing as well as the beautiful and lovely Rita Hayworth. Sadly, they don’t make them anymore. These movies as well as the dancing were from an era which is IRREPLACEABLE. Fred Astaire was a superior dancer, with superb dancing skills, and Rita Hayworth was a great actress, very talented, who had great acting skills. And Fred as Rita were before my time since I wasn’t even born......!!! but I grew up watching my parents dance and watching all this great movies from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Love dancing and music, only great music, as my late parents did. God bless Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth souls forever, they are definitely and sorely missed. Yes, I noticed how attentive he is to her movements then reacting to them--she's contributing a romantic latinness that he's creatively feeding off of, and then she off him. I'm astounded by her confidence while dancing--no shyness, no tentativeness--in this mode she's at home.

Outstanding! I am old. I grew up with Fred and Ginger on B&W TV. This showcases the talent in a totally new way and just reinforces my love of true genius of dance mastery. The tune was new to me, but the impact knocked my socks off. The producer deserves a big bunch of love. This took a lot of work but it paid off big time. For once, I spent pretty much the entirety of that segment with eyes glued to their respective feet. Did I learn anything? If I didn't, then I might as give up on these little gems- for good. The way Rita's feet move are counting the whole time reveals an hidden clock at work. Whilst all the while, Fred is maintaining his end owing to the very different footwear involved. I'm no dancer, but I know a thing or two on maintaining a musical tempo to an even keel. Thankfully, the little 'After you, no after you've added just the right amount of character & humour to cancel out the possibly analytical perception to such inate accuracy. Truly a pleasure to watch, whatever level I'm fixed upon.

I know that younger generations want to see Fred dance to 21st century music, but when the old music is edited out, you miss the true genius of Fred's dancing. He was the absolute master of dancing broken-rhythm and off-beats. You rarely hear Gene Kelly tap but Fred could tell if his taps sounds were off by milliseconds to the video play-back. He was a percussionist with his feet. To edit his tap rhythms out of Astaire dance numbers reduces the full effect of this man's genius!
This is magic ! This is perfect. Rita was so beautiful, so graceful with Fred. Luckily we still can enjoy this perfect moment, these few minutes when they were dancing together. Thank you for sharing.

I also know the original music. You Were Never Lovelier is great movie and in my opinion this is the best dance scene in it. But I also like this fantastic video edition. The music of Enya perfect fit for the dance. Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth show us something wonderful. These superb, enchanting scenes are highlights of the classic cinema. Just like the dances by Fred Astaire with Ginger Rogers or Eleanor Powell. There will never be such geniuses of cinema again.

The original music is beautiful, and the wonderful thing about TH-cam is the original is but one click away. Having said that, I'll bet Fred Astaire would love this music. He was a musician himself, he loved all types of music (particularly jazz) and he was forward thinking. He broke his wrist trying to ride his grandson's skateboard and he appeared on Battle Star Galactica because he grandchildren wanted to see him do something cool.
Unsurpassed. Astaire and Hayworth were exquisite dancers which can be even better appreciated without the original score competing in perfect sync with their movements. It's like watching Astaire and Hayworth from on high with the music turned off dancing in space. Hayworth's Flamingo works to perfection with the ever resplendent Astaire.

Screw "Dancing with the stars"... These two are True STARS. They trained all there lives. If you truly enjoy watching two pro's, this is the ticket. Fred commented that Rita was his best partner, only regret was not doing a Technicolor film with her. Rita said that the the two films she made with Fred were the jewels in her career, she mentioned "Cover Girl" as an after thought, and I'm glad she did.
