I've watched this several times, did you ever say how you actually prepared the corn - you said you wrapped it in the celophane but then how did you cook it? Instapot?

A lot of fires here too and tomorrow is are pioneer days in salt lake City.

One bathroom with 4 here. Fixing to remove the tub and add a 3’ wide shower then make a door in the hall and wall off part of the bathroom to add a commode and small sink. Oh to not have someone knock on the door and say hurry! And that’s usually me saying it. 😂

Now your talking my language! Been going to the OBX since I was a kid. Late 90’s. Back when no one knew what OBX was…. All the houses we stayed in growing up are all gone. 😢 The ocean wanted them more I guess. Actually proposed to my wife under the Rodanthe Peer at sunset in 2010. 😊 Now there’s basically no beach underneath it. All the new bridges… lots of changes the last 30 years. Bringing back all the feels!!!!

We microwave our corn in the shucks for 3 minutes and it steams in the shucks. Glad y'all getting rain. Sending cooler weather. God Bless!

Love it that you're thankful for God's goodness to us, every good and perfect gift cometh from Him! I've watched my corn and other crops dry up during a drought several times over the years and was always thankful when the rain did come. Oh, when i was growing up there was only one outhouse for three of us, does that count?
Over here, just East of Raleigh, we got rain and today we got a whole inch. My wife and I both did happy rain dance, while we were thanking God for His gift and provision for His farm. Definitely Got to go look at the crops tomorrow and see what the beans are looking like now.

I don't think most people realize the effects that weather has with farmers. Wisconsin has had an abundance of rain this year so far. Some fields have standing water that I haven't seen before.

You can do fresh corn in the husk, and when you're through, the silk will come off easily with the husk. As you say, easy peasy. 14:09

Thankful that you got rain there in NC and here in Arkansas it has been dry we finally got rain also and it cooled down thankfully. might even stay that way to end of July I hope. God Bless you and Family.

Meredith ... been waiting all year for fresh corn and tomatoes ... still waiting for tomatoes but corn is coming in. I use a 2 minute solution for preparing my sweet corn. Cut both ends off an ear of corn ... husks and all and put it in the microwave for just two minutes. The husks roll right off and silk can be removed with a paper towel ... voila ... done! Try it! Love your farm adventures. I'm getting old and haven't been on the farm for 70 years but still miss it.

😂 I’ve waited many hours for that ferry ride to go see them horses!! 7-8 hour trip from South Central Pennsylvania to get to RT 12, then maybe an hour drive out to Rodanthe. Then spend a day driving to the ferry and going Over to Oakacrok island!! All the memories are coming back!! I went there as a kid with my entire dad’s side of the family over 30+ people in the same 4 story house!!! Now we take our 4 kids down!

Absolutely love the OBX. We stay in Hatteras and visit Ocracoke 2X a week while there but always keep up with Meredith back on the farm while there as well! Love following you and will be heading back to Hatteras September 14..❤

Mer, if you take that corn on the cob and put it on a sheet of aluminum foil, put a pat of butter and salt on it, wrap it up and put it on the grill you will have the yummiest sweet corn you ever eaten! I usually cook it with my steak on the grill and when the steak is done so is the corn if you eat it medium well, or well done.

I never did understand that stuff. If any of it is oil based it covers up your pores and they can’t breath or sweat and that is what causes zits. Meridith you are a very beautiful lady with nothing on at all and I’m sure Lawrence would agree.
Sure glad ya all got some rain. Here on the Oregon Coast it hasn’t rained in over a month and the corn silage and hay aren’t looking to good. Gotta feed the cows this winter so we can still make the Tillamook cheese and ice cream.

Blue Plate mayo is good but not Dukes mayo good. Dukes is the best. Some of you might know about this but try Dukes mayo on your corn on the cobb. My Aunt Mary introduced me to it. Don't knock it till you try it.
