- I made Kirito's sword from SAO, and I think its a pretty good way to celebrate the anime's completion. If you know a lot about Sword Art Online, you might find it extremely ironic that the I made it out of cedar wood, I didn't do it intentionally I just realized part way through making it. Any way hope you enjoy the build!

What are the materials and tools you used because I'm thinking of making my own
So for the main part of the sword I used a single cedar fence board, no idea where I got it from sadly, and the the two pieces that go on each side of the guard were some smaller pieces of wood(not sure what type), other than that I just used some black, blue, and light blue spray paint( the blue spray paint has mica particles to make it sparkly) and then I used a water based polyurethane varnish to make it glossy at the end. I hope this helps, let me know if there's any more info I can give you 😄

Can you tell me what the lenght and width of the sword are ?
The length of the sword from the tip of the blade to the end of the hilt is exactly 3 feet, the blade itself is 26 inches, the width of the blade at the widest part is 3 and 3/4 inches, the thickness of the blade is half an inch and the width of the guard is 4 and 3/4 inches. Hope those were the measurements you were looking for! :)

Yes. Thank you. One more question. With guard you mean the part between handle and blade right ? I am not that familiar with this type of things.
@@henrythe5th688 Yeah, exactly, so the wide part between the handle(hilt) and the blade is the guard(cross guard)
