Politics is about ideas and the leader who cares about the welfare of the people. During 1992 elections Rawlings had been in power for eleven years. He had CDRs. 31 December Women movement and the People's Militia .Rawlings Charisma alone cannot win NDC political power. At the moment with so many tertiary students so many SHS. students NDC is now struggling to use the old political tricks to win power. Dr.Bawumia has changed the political spectrum of canvassing for vote. Politics is based on ideas.On the average if you call hundred NPP. members after NPP. political rally a good number of them will tell you the ideological direction of the party. I have asked a number of NDC. youth after their rally all that they say is that , for instance Rawlings spoke well. If you ask them what actually did he say ? They unable to say anything. NDC. is not attractive because it emerged out of Coup d'etats ( violence) Former President Mahama said that when it comes to violence no political party can unleash more violence than the NDC.(P) NDC. emerged into the Ghanaian politics with hidden agenda against the AKANS. especially the Ashantis. Unfortunately for the NDC. the Ashantis are more discerning. NDC. need to change political strategy for it to become attractive. At the moment a good number of Ghanaians see it as with all respect a violent and an uncompromising bunch of people.
