Zoro is going to die, meet Kuina, tell her that he became the best, and when she invites him into heaven, he walks the wrong way and ends up back in the world of the living.
I'd love if he does die, come back and fail to mention the "field of flowers" that a few of the other Straw Hats mentioned when they nearly died, simply because he got lost and never found it.
I see a lot of people debate on whether Tashigi is actually Kuina or whatever, but personally I like that she's her own person. People die, often times in ways or at times where it's a terrible tragedy, and unfortunately as much as we may hate it, they stay dead. I feel like that aspect is pretty crucial imo.
I tend to believe Tashigi is a reincarnation of Kuina and that’s why Zoro recognizes so much of his friend in her not just because of the resemblance but the parallel similarities in both of them. The one difference I can tell is that Tashigi seems a lot nicer then Kuina.
As much as I want Kuina to be alive, I really think she's gone. Tashigi just so happens to be a lot like her. I find it to be very painfully realistic, because sometimes we lose people, and for a long time we wonder what they could've been like if they stayed around. What would they look like, what would they have sounded like? And sometimes we meet someone who reminds us of the person we lost, and it messes with our minds. It makes us angry and sad and brings back the grief tenfold when we thought we grew past it. Why it feels like it's not fair that we stayed, but they left.
I love your point of view! I've never thought about it, but now I think this would be a good ending... Zoro finding out what really happened to Kuina, why she REALLY died. So we could also learn more about his backstory. I would love to see Zoro emotional once again. Tashigi isn't Kuina, but she hears her story as well and remembers this scene. I think she and Zoro would become friends after all and she could help him to deal with his grief. And I am so sorry, for your loss, mates! Bro oda is planning this out, if tashigi really is just some random marine girl who is coincidentally a swordsman like kuina, why is she crossing paths with zoro specifically.
I mean is possible, but her similar appereance might have importance in the future for strong emotional moments. When you think about it, Tashigi is the only person that has been capable to pull Zoros past back to reality. What if they have one final clash or Tashigi witness Zoro doing a feat of great swordsmanship and Tashigi says something like "hate to admit it, you are the greatest swordsman in the world" and in that moment Zoro can have an internal emotional moment of how Kuina would think of him and maybe give him a come back line like "Dont say it if you havent try yet".
Imagine the real story behind Kuina's death was that she fell down the stairs, got amnesia and was kidnapped or sold to the marines by someone like the dojo dude who was her father? Its unlikely, I know but not impossible if they actually wanted to preserve her for another time.

@@chicken0w044 I mean, he does have super powers, by awakening the haki he is able to do things that most normal people couldnt, he did train with the best swordsman but all of that combined with his special techniques are what makes him among the strongest characters in the show, at least now.
This is why I liked pre-Grand Line. The characters had such good motivations and almost had character growth. Everything seemed to devolve after the time skip though, just a bunch of fights that get bigger with no plot twists and characterization beyond their basic "dreams".

This is why I liked pre-Grand Line. The characters had such good motivations and almost had character growth. Everything seemed to devolve after the time skip though, just a bunch of fights that get bigger with no plot twists and characterization beyond their basic "dreams".

@@lemonlupinreuben5362 Backstory isn't character growth, the guy is still a pervert who wants to see the "All Blue" or whatever. I remember in pre-Grand Line he was a ladies' man, but also very polite and courteous. Women were falling in love with HIM because of how nice and strong he was.
