Love the piano but honestly it's really hard to reconcile her delivery with the natural flow of the song. It probably works better if you don't know the original.
There are a few parts where she changed it and it doesn’t sound broken, but there were too many times I thought “why would you change the pitch there when it was already perfect?”
@@scottbaylo @vsander09 She does that with a LOT of her covers. I like it personally, but I would say her covers are usually love-it-or-hate-it. (Funnily though historically the bands love them; don't know if anyone from Jawbreaker ever commented on this one). I would say this other one has less playing with the pitch though and I prefer it a little (also it's nice with the acoustic piano): th-cam.com/video/9uxT0z-TDEk/w-d-xo.html
@@faigler sometimes I love when certain songs are covered, but there are too many factors that will shape my opinion... the mood I was in on the day I hear it, how much attachment I have to the original, and depending on the day you catch me, I don't know if I'd say "they changed it too much/not enough"... I'm way too emotionally involved with music I like, almost as if I own it or something. But I can't help it, it was a huge part of my life... I couldn't even tell you any new bands, I pretty much still listen to everything I did growing up, and I think forgetters was the last "new" band I liked... but that doesn't really count because it's the same main driving force behind it as jaw/jets who I already love. I don't suppose you have any suggestions of anything great that's new?
I think Jawbreaker should either credit her as a co-writer or just relinquish their rights to this song and just give it to her. I say she owns it now. Stole it all the way away from them. There's no way it can be given back at this point.
I can watch her sing this song over and over and it still floors me.
She takes the song and makes it her own! Great cover with hart broken emotion, from the gut! Doesn’t get much better than that!
This is absolutely gorgeous.
I can’t breathe
She kills me with this cover. 😭💔
It hurts in the same way the original does.

This horse has a beautiful voice
She's mine, losers... she's mine

😂😂 Her version is so so great….however the original is still superior. I love that both exist though.
