And even then, if it were possible and you saved .003, you'd lose it at the low jumps because you need to be in specific spots on those lows to trick off them at either 102kmh or 109kmh. I stayed on the ramp a little longer laps 2 and 3. I dismissed doing that early on because I either got a ton of air going off the ramp, too little air, or when I landed, I got sent super wide when going very lower. But it turns out there is a way to land sooner on the banister while landing tight. It's hard to do which is why it went unnoticed for so long. I figured that out by accident when messing around with the ramp entering it for the first time lap 2 and went a little higher than normal (I was messing around with it on keyboard at this point) and got that within a few savestates. I was just messing around with the ramp before getting more serious with it.
@@lowercaseletters_ the rail cut isn’t a glitch at all, I think it’s even used in the no shortcut wr. It’s just a way to take the turn a lot sharper (especially because of the semi-offroad patch)
With current strategies the best splits are nowhere near that level, least of all for CTGP's expert staff ghost, but anything can happen in Mario Kart Wii.
