    Hi Mate, nice clean install. Want to do the same thing with mine. How deep in from the mounting point is that light and mounting plate? Need more light when reversing.

      +Kent Davis If you look under the tailgate, you will see about 4 large Torx bolts with big washers. That's where it attaches and the light comes out just enough to fit in the tailgate gap.I would guess the mounts that came with my lights are about an inch and a bit? I can measure when I get home.

    Great job, does it affect the camera when reversing?

      No, it doesn't. Makes it a whole lot easier to see back there in the dark.

    I am just wondering how you put the cable for lights? Did you drill a extra hole next to the screw point of the bracket?

      I ran the cables just under the plastic that covers the bumper at the top. Then it pokes out just where the lights are.

    Hey Stephen, Ive just recently installed the exact same lights following your link and the amarok forums. My issue is I cant get the lights to fire through the relay. If i can ask you, I got all my wires from the tow bar wiring. Googled VW 13-pin wiring diagrams and got the earth, constant battery, reverse light from the loom, put it all in and wont fire. How did you wire it up?

      Alan B I used the interface plugs under the front dash near the clutch pedal. They are wrapped up in cloth tape. What year model is you Amarok?

      Ive got a 2012 highline. Im not sure if my car has an interface plug but I purchased the car and it has front spotties, UHF radio and a trailer brake thingy. I cant run any wires from under the dash to the back as I cant lift the back seat up because of baby seats installed. Surely the signal wire from the reverse light on the trailer plug should be sufficient to trigger the relay

    Can I ask what size bolts did you need to buy to replace the original ones?

    • @stephensimpson5283
      @stephensimpson5283 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      From memory they where either 20mm or 25mm. I just took the original ones to the store and got the next size up. Wasn't much in it.

    Hi Steve, What brand is the light? Did you wire it into the tow bar outlet?

      +Richard Toomey Hi Richard, The lights are from ebay. From memory they are only about $20-$30 a pair. I wired them throught the accessory plugs under the dash where your clutch pedal is. If you watch my other video on dash removal, right at the end I show you where they are.A relay from the reverse sensing wire in there and then the power connection in the plug as well for the main power. All done through one plug under the dash without having to go through the CANBUS in the Rok. Go to ausamarok.com.au for a lot more info on this and other things for the amarok. Here's the link for the other video.th-cam.com/video/_Lcy-yVC_eU/w-d-xo.html

    Can you install a couple of these for me?

    • @stephensimpson5283
      @stephensimpson5283 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      you will need to get a wiring loom to make it easy. Then you could do it yourself. Then its really just plug and play. Unscrew the bolt, fit the light and plug in. Very easy to do. Where do you live?

    • @geepee5640
      @geepee5640 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Around Patterson Lakes, I can give it a go, but need to know exactly which lights are these and where to get them. I assume a standard wiring loom from Jaycar will be OK?
      Thanks,

      Nope, eaier to go to Ausamarok.com.au
      Find a guy named Peter Jones on there. Get a ready made wire loom from him. All plug and play. Here www.ausamarok.com.au/forum/showthread.php/6708-Wiring-pictures-and-solutions
      Then get the lights off eBay
      www.ebay.com.au/itm/2x-6inch-18W-LED-Light-Bar-Driving-Work-Lamp-Flood-Truck-Offroad-UTE-4WD-/261191084943?hash=item3cd033ab8f:g:-bIAAOSwq19XBaN6
      Least trouble and easy to install.
