Another video idea: How you surveyed in the line-work of the building and curb. Specifically when the building's wall is in the way how you shoot the points and elevations (do you do offsets with a tape measure or something like that)?
Are you having issues comparing surfaces? We are having issues with pocket locking up after shooting a topo of a pile of dirt. I shoot the pile create a surface then create a flat surface under the pile. As soon as I hit calculate it locks up.
If you move the tracks on the excavator do you need to re-link to the ln-150 or does it automatically update the machine location? With Trimble Earthworks using a total station it needs to be re-linked if the machine (tracks) are moved to know the excavators new location on the site.
Yup, the total station follows/tracking the prism on the roof to provide instant position/height information of the excavator - same as grader/CTL/dozer. That seems odd on the Trimble solution, it kind of defeats the purpose a bit…
I have had Trimble UTS and now Topcon mc mobile LPS and as far as location you still need to rotate the machine when you move but the software is more user friendly and doesn’t “get mad” at you if u don’t do it right away. Yes it may be off a little horizontally but you can still see the excavator moving on the screen and it will try to give the location as close as.possible until automatically updating more precisely as you continue to work at the new spot. I used to get so annoyed at Trimble that the screen would go blank and I had no general idea if i moved enough to the new location. Topcon has essentially fixed this problem.

Personally no as I haven’t needed to use volume calcs yet. Are you running the latest release of the software?
I am having the same issue!
Thanks! How did you get simulation mode in 3dmc?
Hold down the 3DMC button in top left corner of the “about” menu

@@MrTopconwhat he is talking about is rotating the machine to establish location.
