literally forgot the name of this song and had trouble finding it again... but turns out i remembered the melody almost perfectly. looking forward to many relistens!
I put this song on for my son almost every day when he was in my wife's belly. When he was born, i remember the first time i played again, and his eyes stopped in the air.
Currently stationed 6000 miles from home, this song always manages to take me right back home, and bring some tears to my eyes all at the same time. Beautiful song.
JUST LOVE THIS GUY. ONE OF MY FAV. TUNES...SAW HIM IN 1991 PROMOTING HIS "DON ROSS" album. His 2nd one.....Opened a whole new range of possibilities on acoustic guitar......AND HE'S CANADIAN TOO...YEAH BABY!
Well, thanks to Covid 19...........this is next on my "to learn " list.......one of my fave Don Ross tunes......*ever*...........just a beautiful melody/sound played be a musical genius.
@@Taylor7777ify Honestly, that natural reverb works best on ballads like this, but was frankly a little hard to harness on the upbeat tunes. This was actually also recorded in a church that had less pronounced natural reverb. In this clip, I'm playing as precisely as I can to match what I recorded in the church (while making the video in an art gallery!)
This song played at our wedding as I walked down the aisle. It was extrememly difficult for the musician to learn however, the result was perfection. This will always be a special one for me.
I remember listening to Pandora in high school and was always so excited when I saw that yellow album cover with Jesus' brother on it. One of my favorites of all time. Thanks Don.
Don Ross is an excellent guitarist, and Berkley Springs is a fantastic - and moving - piece of music. I have one niggle, though, and that's the not so pleasant scratches from the thumb-pick on the bass strings. It mars the beautiful melody.
I can't say enough just how proud of a Canadian I am when I hear this. Don you are an awesome inspiration, and a fine Canadian. Thank you for doing just what you do. Thanks Rob for posting this.
Just heard this song for the first time today. And this rendition is absolutely fantastic. The melody that sparks a feeling of familiarity and joy, coupled with a beautiful warm and rich tone combines together to create that feeling of home. I love it.
This is my favourite song. It recently came back on my radar listening to a recent livestream. I first saw Don Ross over 15 years ago at a concert and was lucky enough to have a front row seat.
Sure love this song! I've been trying to play it for a while now. it's my 'project song'. Been slowly making progress but measures 57 to about 77 are proving to be the most challenging. Not going to give up, sounds great even at my level of an hour a day practice. I play in my church orchestra so have that to do as well...but this is more fun! Thanks for posting.
I just love it. Going to learn it. Dan you are an inspiration to me. All my adult life I've been playing a country music circuit pretty much all Eastern United States doing opening acts for country stars playing big clubs but I never knew how much I enjoy just acoustic music without anything else. Nothing makes me feel better and just give me so much joy is listening to your playing. I was a big James Taylor fan did a lot of this material but that's how I fell in love with the acoustic guitar also John Denver in the '70s. But I just discovered you and some of your other friends and I never knew how much I enjoy it. The playing and the the touch being chord structure and baseline for just fantastic it's a whole new universe for me.
I have been listening to this song for years. It now serves a different purpose for me. I just lost my mom (unexpectedly) June 10th. For some reason when I hear this now I think of her, and there is huge comfort in that!
That’s just... I have no words to describe this amazing display... but this reminds me that I can still get better as I too play guitar. That’s for keeping my hopes up
Such a beautiful song, great song to just unwind and relax, same with most of don ross's songs. This guy is master of guitar, could listen to him all day
This music expresses one of the most beautiful things a musician can express: humility! A marvellous piece from a true master, so it is a masterpiece! Thank you for continually sharing your heart with us in such a way, Don Ross!
When I first heard Passion Sessions many years ago, I was in awe. What a monster talent! Thanks for the music, Don. Life is a little richer because of it.
this song always makes me shed a tear or two. the beauty of this amazing. forget jimmy hendrix, Don Ross is the best guitarist i have ever heard (and probably ever will). *he recorded passion session again ? i must get it !
+qweasdzxcname ahaha that's a bold call. Go hit up Acoustic Labs - Teardrop. I'd dispute the claim that he's even the best guitarist in Candyrat, despite his abundance of brilliant sounds.

amazing
That's cool! We used to but a video of Klimbim on for our baby whenever he was fussy. His attitude cleared right up!

Gorgeous

Magical tune Mr. Ross, thank you so much for inspiring new guitarists like myself! :)

This is one of the very few songs that affect how I feel. Thank you for listening to the One who inspires you!!! 🧓
Well, thanks to Covid 19...........this is next on my "to learn " list.......one of my fave Don Ross tunes......*ever*...........just a beautiful melody/sound played be a musical genius.
Any update? Did you end up learning it? This one took a while for me to work out
Learning this one soon myself brother, can’t wait
Here is the 1st new video from "PS 15" the 15th anniversary re-recording of "Passion Session" re-imagined by Don Ross.
If only you could revisit the church and re-record it there, i love so dearly the reverb and natural acoustics on the original.
***** This is the most beautiful piece, forever.

If you have ever been to Berkley Springs, this song sums it up perfectly.
Joe Richard true.
I remember listening to Pandora in high school and was always so excited when I saw that yellow album cover with Jesus' brother on it. One of my favorites of all time. Thanks Don.

I bet I have listened to this 50 times....just to chill. Brilliant. Thank you.
Awesome, just awesome. If I could play like that I would wear my fingers to the bone as I couldn't stop listening to myself.
This will forever be my favorite piece. So thankful that i somehow learned it 😁😁
I can't say enough just how proud of a Canadian I am when I hear this. Don you are an awesome inspiration, and a fine Canadian. Thank you for doing just what you do. Thanks Rob for posting this.
Wayne Janssen Yeah, he makes up for Justin Beiber!🤮
Don's playing is fulfilling, cleansing, and soothing to the soul.

Don is the man, Just love all his music. Just abstract enough to be intriguing, and traditional enough to captivate anyone. Love you Don!
yes I am back again.... cannot stop listening to this song! Love it! The tone is also killing me!!
This is my favourite song. It recently came back on my radar listening to a recent livestream. I first saw Don Ross over 15 years ago at a concert and was lucky enough to have a front row seat.

I love the fact I can get on these kind of vids, and see other CANDyRAT Artists giving Ross some pretty awesome compliments~
Why this magical song so underrated???
Jeez Louise - my buddy James made this video! Killer to see CandyRat hitting up local #Montreal talent!
This is wonderful. Reminds me a lot of John Renbourn.
Absolute Beauty. Cheers Charles'
This is one of my favourite finger-picking
