I’ve had PVD gun parts and they are durable, slick and easy to clean. It’s good stuff! This bar is pretty cool and commenting on that center ring it still looks like mountain knurling but tighter than a Texas power bar so may be very similar to kabuki or the rep double black diamond. This seems like it’s full of great features, and TEXAS flag to boot!!! Yes sir!
The printing inside the sleeves def looks a lot like the new REP bars. Would be really cool if an elite deadlifter put their own spin on a DL bar. Great review gents!
Cool bar and great review. Interested to see how the sleeves hold up too. Need Gluck’s cat tongue rating for nurling aggressiveness. Above or below OHP?
@@Emertx7 some of ours have been really bad, done the same thing with chilling and scratching. So cerakote usually isn't my favorite. Curious to see how this one holds up though!
I've totally have to agree with you. With TPB there it seems silly to name an imported bar about something Texas. But then again Fringe did with their imported Longhorn bar, which I own and actually use quite a bit.
This bar reminds me of the Titan Fitness Medusa Power Bar. It had the green cerakote and graphite PVD sleeves. Maybe could be same supplier? I love my Medusa Bar so yeah.
Without having touched this bar, it looks an awful lot like the Rep Black Diamond bar with a fancy cerakote job. I’d guess they are made in the same factory in China.
Great looking bar! Hot Take: Need to talk to Grant & have his bumper plates match the pricing of Homegrown Lifting. What he’s charging for his bumpers is ridiculous even as somebody who owns Strengthoco plates. Same with his barbell. Inflating the prices just because
I have a LUXIAOJUN E1 Powerbar with a black QPQ treatment on the sleeves which is a nitride treatment. It's not a coating, it's a treatment of the metal which is used on gun barrels. Extremely durable.
Never heard of the company until last month. Not a huge fan of Imported bars especially with mild knurling. And I’m not a fan of blazzing so the name is a bit cringe to me
Price point seems way too high to me for an import bar when you can get the king of them all (Texas power bar) for less money and have it built right here at home in a (formerly) proper country.

I have one cerakote bar that really got mangled with chipping. What do you guys think about the durability of cerakote when it comes to that?

$400 for a Chinese 29mm bushing bar? They must have been blazzed when they came up with their price points.

On a serious note, I don't think I'm a fan of the Texas theming on an imported bar.

Hypothetically would an Empire State bar be bigger or smaller? Everything is bigger in Texas but I've heard NY is big too.
