@@RememberTheLordIt’s hard for those of you with light olive skin but honestly they make even fewer of them olive once you go past tan. There are very few brands that make a medium deep olive. They tend to stop right before my shade or skip over the transition shade between tan and deep.
and pale!! Almost always brands think only medium to deep skin tones can be olive. We all can be olive :( And they think olive skin is always warm. Ugh. There is cool and neutral too. :(
Please do more videos on light to medium olive undertones. It doesn't seem like many of the Sephora artists know what to do. They hand me foundations that clearly do not match.
I'm a light cool-neutral olive and it's really hard to find a decent foundation. I tried Sephora Best Skin Ever 17.5N. It's sliiiightly peachy but it's not so bad. Probably the one of the best matches so far. The formulation is amazing. No one realizes that I have foundation on my skin during the day.
I’ve found a lot of lighter olive foundations seem Peachy to me which I think is meant for warmer Olives not cool ones. I tried 17.5 and the color seemed ok but wasn’t enough coverage for me and I think was a tad light
I'm a fair cool olive, and it's hard for me to find one that matches my skin exactly too. The closest one so far is Urban Decay Stay Naked in 30CG,and I have to mix a little bit of a lighter shade of another brand,or a little white mixer into it to get it to where it doesn't leave a line on my jaw.I wish they'd add a couple of lighter shades in the Cool Green category, like a 20CG,11CG, or 10 CG.
@@brendalucian6219 yah 30cg is a little too dark. I just tried Lisa Eldridge’s new 2.5. I’m not sure if it’s a tad too light but I’m trying it for a few days
I'd love to see matching on an olive black person. The first fenty shade I was matched go was 390 then the 2nd bottle I bought was super orange. No other shades match in depth at all!
O.M.G. I thought I knew what my under tone was, -I wasn't so wrong- but you made me realize that I might actually be more Neutral than warm. Love what you did with Natasha. Will check the video again for the colors you used on her. Thank you so much!! P.S. Natasha has great skin.
Yay! 2 of my favorite peeps on the same video! And, I'm also olive skinned, neutral undertone complected...only took me like 20 years to get color matched correctly! 🤪
@@blainedubrow6437 I usually get you are so Warm bc I have bleached blonde hair. I’ve had one associate know I was olive. One! I get warm that are too golden or neutral that are so peach
I went to sephora a few times and I keep getting colour matched to neutral or neutral cool. I go home with samples in natural light the foundation is too pink, orange or muddy/greyish looking. Sigh * I’m def a medium light olive tone. More noticeable olive when I tan in the summer! I’m gunna go back to Sephora and get samples of this brand!
I tried color IQ at Sephora and the shades didn't match me very well. Warm undertones were too orange, cool was too pink, and neutral was ok but not that well. I give up on finding a foundation and concealer shade.
I'm still confused i used to think i was like a honey beige but i realized that's not my skintone it's because my face skin is so burn because my chest its a lot lighter i sometimes look tan sometimes i look more light
He was saying it can still lean warm, cool, or neutral. But in general, yes, olive skin tones tend to lean more neutral… just not necessarily the type of neutral most foundations come in
The makeup industry really be cheating us out of foundations. Good olive undertones are sooo hard to find. Everything looks orange on me. Btw have you tried the foundation in the video ? Or are there any nice olive friendly ones you recommend ? Kermit said it best - it isn’t easy being green
We need more olive foundations for medium deep skin tones
Exactly
In all ranges, I hope. There’s like hardly any for light skin. Everyone assumes olive people are tan but there’s pale olive too.

@@brendalucian6219so true! 30CG would work so much better on me if It was 20CG why do brands assume olives cannot be fair?
