Senbonzakura is a vocaloid cover of Hatsune Miku from 2011. The song is about the westernization of Japan, so a rather serious theme. 1000 cherry blossoms refer to 1000 soldiers who were executed. the text contains words such as guillotine, and expressions such as party inside a steel cage and lament will not be heard.
The song is perhaps the Wagakki band's biggest hit.
This was from "Manatsu no Daishinenkai 2020" (Midsummer New Year's party) in Yokohama arena. The concert was originally supposed to be held in January and was called Dashinnenkai (New Year's party) but was postponed until August due to covid. The Yokohama arena has room for 17k spectators but they were only allowed to let in 5k spectators. The audience had to have a negative covid test, wear a mask and were not allowed to sing loudly or shout. therefore this version lacks response from the audience during the song.

The Wagakudo Band began with leader Yuko Suzuhana's desire to "present Japanese classical performing arts to the world with a more POP image.
Their first task was to produce a cover album of songs created with "Vocaloid," a music production software that allows virtual idols to sing. As soon as they released the music video for "Senbonzakura," a song included in that album, it attracted worldwide attention and has now been viewed more than 160 million times.
Unfortunately, their exclusive contract with avex trax ended in June 2019, so please note that their music videos owned by avex after that will surely be blocked if used as is, except for live videos.

So much talent and energy on one stage. 🤘 I dropped a couple of new suggestions on your discord, one for Wagakki Band and one for a new group. 😃

Amazing! Thank you. Yes they are insane and I love their work. As there’s only 2 weeks left of 2023 I think it would be best I start to actually filter thought my discord in January and get those reactions done 😊

@@KaireemReactions It's another of their instrumentals with guitar, bass and drums. Here's the best video I could find: th-cam.com/video/1wJTSlVNssk/w-d-xo.html It might be the last one of this kind you haven't heard (after Homura, Night of Knights and Togakubi).

I'm a native Japanese speaker and I don't get any word "Bonkai". It should be either Mankai or Bonsai if it refers to gardening. Mankai means Full Blossom and a Bonsai is a miniature garden with miniature trees.

@@KaireemReactions Thanks for the info. I still don't get what it is though. I don't think it is a regular Japanese word. I'm a septuagenarian and I know pretty much about old fashioned Japanese. Manga generates unique words time to time.

@@gatograto oh I see. I believe Manga and Anime do that time to time. I’m not an expert but it would make sense. They take things from the Japanese culture and they add their own flavour to it
