I think Prabhas is Time Traveler and His traveling through time to fix something.. Maybe something like Terminator..

A theory from my side, 😂 there is a scene in the teaser of kalki where the name was introduced from project k in comic con. Prabhas catches a rod like weapon and looking at his expression the character of prabhas that we are seeing in these trailers like comical, greedy kind just disappears and a serious version is shown that can be his turing point...

They have named prabas as bhairava ( shiva) and then will make him Kalki (vishnu) and by this they can show shiva = vishnu... The concept of HariHar
And also I think they have named prabhas as bhairava bcoz if they have named him by any names of vishnu so it will easy for the audience to guess him as kalki

Bhairava and Ashwadhama fight is reference to Mahabharata.

Last fight trailer ka last seen hai par ye movie ka mid bhi ho sakta hai. Kind of bahubali 1, jisme hero mid tak fight kar raha hai aur badme story evolve ho jata hai.
Bhairava may be representing Parsuram who is one of the Chiranjivi and a form of shiva and guru of kalki.

I think there will be a seperate character as Kalki, The main reason they choose prabhas is to be a torch bearer for the franchise because he is so big is almost all industries as has good capability of pulling audience to theaters just with his name. instead of glorifying kalki direct i hope they bring some more character/Chiranjeevi's to expand the universe and create some spinoff movies that deviates from the main story line
