You have to use just the right colors for it to pop. Barbara used black, gray and red and it was awesome. Try it with your favorite colors - I think you will like it more then. :-) April
I have a perfect idea in my mind!!! I will go out for shopping at JoAnn’s Fabric after work next Friday so I will make a nice Christmas theme quilt for my daughter and son in law! Thank you for your wonderful tips! 🤟
New to your channel and loving your videos. Could you please share how best to work with Minky on the back of a quilt. I have never been successful unless I tie it. I would live to make baby quilts with Minky backs. Thank you!
Hi Julia -- Most of the shirts in my videos I make--- I own half of a little t-shirt business and we make custom t-shirts. Thank you for the compliment! -- April
I am new to quilting. I did a few small decorative quilts. I would like to make these for my kids for Christmas but I am not sure what to put on the back. I would like to put a plush or sherpa on the back but not sure how to get a piece big enough for the entire back. Do you have any advise or a video I can watch
I would stick with a minky. It isn’t as stretchy as some other fuzzy soft backing. It is normally 59” wide which makes it quite nice for the size quilts I make. If you are going to quilt it your quilt should be any wider 54”. The length you get would be 8” longer than your quilt. Let me know if you have any more questions. April
I donate some to charity... I give them as gifts to friends and family ... and some I just hoard because I LOVE QUILTS so much!!! Thanks for watching! April
I cut my fat quarters at 18" x 21". Sometimes fat quarters won't be quite 22". If that is the case with yours, just cut them to 18 x 21.5". or 20". Being a little smaller won't hurt a thing. :-). Thank you for watching and commenting. April
I am so enjoying your videos and I really like the idea of the fat quarter quilts. Would you mind if I make a similar video on my channel? (It's called Deb's Way) I have been lining up some quilting projects to film and would love to try this design out, too. Thanks! Have a great week-end!!

If you look at the original disappearing 9 patch the design is different that the design of this quilt. There were additional cuts to get a different look. Thank you for watching and commenting. April

I’m gonna play with this concept, not sure I’m too pumped for this one. I do see the illusion you’re trying for.

WHAT ARE YOU USING FOR YOUR DISPLAY WALL
My design wall is flannel wrapped insulation board hung on the studs in my unfinished basement to create faux walls. 😀
