Taka's father didn't want Taka to become a musician but finally relented and allowed him to join Johnny's under the condition that Taka keep up with his studies. Taka ended up dropping out of high school though which infuriated his father so he got disowned. The family eventually made up and this concert was the first time his father came to see him perform, and this song was written as an apology to his parents, which is why he got extra emotional in the middle of the song. Another song dedicated to his family, namely his father, is "Hard to Love" on their Ambitions album. That track is only on the international release of the album and isn't included on the Japanese one.

Taka's father wrote a column in a newspaper talking about Taka once. He mentioned about the time he drove Taka out of the house. One day, he suddenly showed up at the bar where Taka was working. He simply asked Taka if he really wanted to go into music. Taka answered yes. His father then left a 10000 yen tip and left. The bar owner was like, "Wow, you really are Mori Shinichi's son." In high school he actually dropped out of school to pursue music, which his parents didn't want him to. Finally one day he came home with his parents in his room with all of his alcohol and tobacco laid out. His mom basically disowned him all that time and he ran away from home. He didn't talk to his dad for a few years until his dad visited him at work one day. This song is an apology to them. I've read interviews from songs this time that Taka gave and the whole story about this and really his home life is incredible. And when he's yelling out that he loves you guys that's towards his parents who are at the concert. Oh and look up the lyrics Taka was about to sing when he stopped. I wouldn't be able to sing then either. It's great to see you finally check this out. The only other performances you really hear such personal pain in Taka's voice is in C.h.a.o.s.m.y.t.h. live Field of Wonder concert. It was dedicated to his friend Haruma. The other is Voice live at Blare fest 2020. Taka wrote this song for the front man of Pay Money to my Pain, K, who died in 2012. Pay Money to my Pain was a major influence in j rock. They were the first group to have lyrics completely in English. K actually suggested My first Story for Hiro's band name. I think he also played a role in giving OOR their name. The song is about Taka's hardship in his personal life (broken family, left home and learn to survive without his family and achieving success with hardwork and under scrutiny). His lil brother (from My First Story band) also sang the same song called "Home" (his pov of their family situation after Taka left) and finally when they all made up (family finally became close again), Taka made the song "Right By Your Side" as the closure song for his brother. He performed it live at a concert which he shared the stage with his brother last year. The brothers are now happier nowadays, no more family feud and resentments.

the upbeat beat of the corus, keeping you from crying fully, makes a lot of sence to me. before i read the lyrics i only watched this song as an amv with the studio version, and that was my happy song, even though i knew the lyrics were sad. but watching this version has always brought me to tears because of Takas delivery and emotion here.
Taka's vocals were interrupted in the middle of the song due to his emotional state, but I think the song contained a lot of complicated history and deep, complex feelings that he had experienced in the past, which spilled out all at once and he was in a temporary state of uncontrollable emotions.

Woooooow, how amazing, how cool! We for sure love OOR. Taka is such an amazing front man that sometimes we forget how amazing the boys are. They are such amazing musicians. I personally love Tomo´s drums. So powerful, so on point. Then Toru and Ryota are fantastic. I love the old, young, raw OOR as much as the seasoned, rounded today OOR. My favorite rock band for sure.

I didn't expect to see this song reacted to by you - it's one of, if not my most favourite OOK song, so glad to see you did it! Big fan of them myself, and hope you get to see them live yourself later in the year like you mentioned. If I had to suggest a song that hasn't already been suggested, not sure if you've done it or it's come up before, but another one of my favourites by them is Mikansei Koukyoukyoku. Highly recommend it.

This song was written to his family, not only to his parents but to his brothers too. This concert was the first time his parents attended an OOR concert, so he was naturally very emotional. His dad really became a huge fan of OOR and he goes to concerts frequently and has all of their albums too :))) Taka's brother Hiro wrote a response song to Nobody's Home 6 years after the release of this one, called "Home" where he says he hopes one day all five of them can be together again. it is rumoured that Right By Your Side from the Skyfall single is Taka's followup to Hiro's song, but there has never been an official confirmation to that, fans think so because of the lyrics. Taka and Hiro performed Nobody's Home together at the VS concert last year.

Woooooow, how amazing, how cool! We for sure love OOR. Taka is such an amazing front man that sometimes we forget how amazing the boys are. They are such amazing musicians. I personally love Tomo´s drums. So powerful, so on point. Then Toru and Ryota are fantastic. I love the old, young, raw OOR as much as the seasoned, rounded today OOR. My favorite rock band for sure.

If I had to suggest a song that hasn't already been suggested, not sure if you've done it or it's come up before, but another one of my favourites by them is Mikansei Koukyoukyoku. Highly recommend it.

OOR are so genuine in their emotions and so are you with your reactions, Luke! It’s why yours is my favorite reaction channel. I really enjoyed watching this, it always gets me emotional too. ❤ I know I keep repeating this recommendation but please check out “Pierce” from this same concert, it’s such an emotional one, a very powerful song and performance!
are you going to have a meetup at the London concert with other OOR fans? would be awesome. :) Btw, Taka has had a rocky relationship with his parents, who didn't want him to become a rock singer. he talks about this in Flip a Coin. This song was written to his family, not only to his parents but to his brothers too. This concert was the first time his parents attended an OOR concert, so he was naturally very emotional. His dad really became a huge fan of OOR and he goes to concerts frequently and has all of their albums too :))) Taka's brother Hiro wrote a response song to Nobody's Home 6 years after the release of this one, called "Home" where he says he hopes one day all five of them can be together again. it is rumoured that Right By Your Side from the Skyfall single is Taka's followup to Hiro's song, but there has never been an official confirmation to that, fans think so because of the lyrics. Taka and Hiro performed Nobody's Home together at the VS concert last year.
