  • Linear interpolation is the process of finding intermediate values in data within the known range.
This video looks at two problems in PTC Mathcad addressed with linear interpolation: One problem interpolating between force and torque, and the second problem interpolating with a running sum of Bon Jovi record sales and the year to guess the sum of sales at a given year not in the original data. It walks you through vectorizing real data values to use the linterp function and using the result in any function thereafter.
The linterp function, as well as Mathcad's other interpolation and prediction functions, is premium PTC Mathcad Prime functionality. You can try it and other functions available from the full version of Mathcad Prime out for 30 days at www.mathcad.co...

Hello - nice solving :) However, Prime tells me to apply only integers for x ... while my problem involves real numbers ... How can we interpolate for real numbers?

      Hi Jarle,
We don't quite follow your question and don't understand why you'd have an issue, since the interpolation function supports real numbers.
If you need some troubleshooting, I suggest posting a thread with your worksheet on the PTC Community's Mathcad board!

How can I do a double interpolation using mathcad?

      Hi Diego,
I've asked the engineer who made this video for an answer, but it might take some time for her to answer. If you'd like a faster answer, I suggest asking your fellow engineers over at the PTC Community forum at community.ptc.com/t5/Mathcad/bd-p/PTCMathcad .

    instead of 1500 lbf-in, I am getting -8844.6648 1/m lbf-in
    How to solve this?

I suggest you post your worksheet to PTC Community. We can't diagnose your problem via TH-cam comment.
