I find it fascinating that Solomon, with all his wisdom and wealth, concludes that life’s meaning lies in fearing God and keeping His commandments. In a culture where self-fulfillment and independence are praised, his message is almost shocking. Are we losing sight of the bigger picture by focusing solely on ourselves? Could it be that the path to true peace and contentment actually requires surrendering to a higher purpose rather than “living our own truth”?

Hi. Solomon was a polytheist. He said everything material is vanity. If he was so wise he was a role model of a king with 600 concubines? The writings are narrated as he is influenced by a diety. He consulted mediums and dabbled with the occult. The god of heaven is a god of air/wind. The age of enlightenment is Aquarius the air signs are drawn to the god of heaven. We are drawn by our elemental beings who control humans. Life under the spirits of the air may guide you to a cult or path that keeps you codependent on a group. Solomon was not a sage, who cut off his sensual desires whilst he kept seeking validation from his gods. He should not be put on a pedestal or presented as wise. He was a medium and invoked spirits who influenced and guided him. He was not wiser than any philosopher today or others after him. He was rich. True enlightenment is not among the rich or famous. Their wisdom is dark . Open your eyes
Yes, he did look into and explore other " gods" which his wife followed, and for a time suffered a temporary insanity from which he eventually recovered. This book says he led a full life, but doesn't dive into his full history. It is a testament of what he learned during his life. That he lived many things and continued to search only strengthened his arguments not weaken them.
Yes Solomon did as he said everything under the sun. He said he did not with hold anything from himself and after all this indulgence. The conclusion was in all this it was meaningless. What he is telling us is God should also be our desired one in our hearts, read Song of Songs, our focus is on Him our provider, the one who gives us breath of life. This is the lesson he learned and it did end poorly for him, for the kingdom was split apart and then sent into exile for not following the ways of God. We need to heed his words, remember what Jesus said, love God and your neighbors. We make a mistake by saying who we want as a neighbors. This is out of the will of Christ. It is not power, wealth or lording over people that sustain but it is the love for God and each other that keeps us all going
