I think that hole in the pitcher is for a wooden/ceramic rod that connets the indent to the beak of the picher and guides the water when pouring and also it tranforms it into a standalone teapot. Ive seen those teamakers used foe japanese teas but I dont know the name of it.

Well I think the 2 worlds overlap a lot! I'm a proud coffee and tea enjoyer, and enjoy them for different reasons. Also, there is literally no right or wrong way to enjoy YOUR time. If you've found a way to get joy from both, then that's magic. Enjoy your warm beverages 🫶🏼
