I own one. It’s a very stable hi hat stand but very difficult to set up. It will be easier now that I saw this video. What I really don’t like about this stand is the locking screws that prevent the pedal assembly from folding up. Lose them at a gig and your up shits creek without a paddle. The mechanism is over engineered and if you don’t get it right, the pedal will jam and not work for you. The piece that is connected to the top of the pedal (near your toes) has to face downward away from you, that’s the confusing part because you would assume that it would go upward. If it’s facing up, it will jam and confuse the crap out of you. So watch this video and it will work well for you.
I completely understand your concerns regarding Ludwig's inept contact/reply issues!! I love Ludwig Drums, but their non-existance from simple questions from their customers, you know? THE customers that keep them in business? WTF! Just simple e-mail reply can do wonders for PR. I for one sent them an email regarding details of Alex Van Halen's 2012 which is his current stage set up & am still waiting for the reply, that was last March 2012, its now May 2013. Hello Ludwig!! Is anyone there??
Pay attention....it's a little harder than it looks. Make sure you have some tension on the rod adjustment or it won't line up. It takes a few tries; then it's a snap. Thanks for the tutorial, fellas!
Your best bet is to try some online stores that can help get what you want. Musicinasfriend online website is the one I trust best! Plus I've noticed that Ludwig do respond to dealerships & drum stores that exclusively house their drums. They're still slow but I end up getting what I want. Good luck!
I bought one and like it BUT the rod is really long. It may look cool but it's in the way of my crash cymbal so I have to back up the cymbal stand. I had it where I wanted it before I replaced my old hi-hat stand. 😡
too many key locks for my taste . I adjust while playing don't want anything fixed position especially on the cymbal tilt function . We are drummer's not mechanics " c'mon man" this is moving backwards not forwards

It would've been nice if there were wing screws there so that you could use your hand instead of a drum key.

I'm happy this video is online, this stand is quite confusing
Thanks now I know how to use the tension adjustment thing as it came with no instructions
FYI - The black rotating cylinder is the tension adjustment. They explain it a the 3:00 mark.
I could have my entire kit setup in the time it would take me to set that thing up!
"Indeed"
The foot angle adjustment has given me problems since day 1. It will slip then the pedal bottoms out with a “clack” noise .
Man, that is how a hi-hat stand should be!

Great job guy, good demo on a great piece of hardware.
What are the pros and cons of the progressive linkage? Is it like using a red cam on a Pearl kick pedal?
Mine just got delivered from Sweetie!
Yeah my atlas hi hat which I love does not have the same fittings as this one. Mine is a flat out chore to assemble and disassemble each time.
Yep, mine too. A real pain.

I can't get the pedal height to adjust to stay where I want it
Where can I order a new clutch. It fell out of my saddle bag while riding to get a plastic sleeve for it. Damn it

The rod seems very long/tall. Is there a shorter rod available?
I was wondering the same! Did you ever find a solution?
so it doesn't wobble when you stomp on it!
how do i get the spring tension looser than its lowest setting?
Look at the volkweins music review, they explain it :)
why is the pedal base not on the floor?
So that it can function as a tripod which is more stable
@@JustEnjoyingLife73 11 years of wondering. Thanks.
my regular stand never wobbles...(?)
it's a piece of shit
do you happen to own it? I'm thinking about getting this
Absolutely sucks to set up !
And you didn't mention one thing about the linkage or show any views of it. Too much lip service fellas.
