Hi! from japan. good reaction! Metallica covered this song and it's good too. it'll be nice if you would react to Wishbone Ash sometime.

Such a great BOC song.... another great one to react to is "I love the night".

Shows how underrated BOC was, they were so more than the “cowbell” band

Hi Elok. Oh yes Let's Rock indeed.Thank you for reacting to BOC...such a underated band. I first saw this band in Liverpool UK in 1976...and they were absolutely brilliant.
Some other songs to maybe check out ...
Burning For You, Veteran of Psychic Wars, Godzilla, ETI ( Extra Terrestrial Intelligence).
Looking forward to your next reaction. Take care, stay safe. Peace from Liverpool UK 👍✌️🤘☮️

met BOC way back in 1976, I was 14 at the time... best concert ever and in 1978 seen them 6 times. I still stay in touch with Joe Bouchard( original bassist)and Albert Bouchard ( original drummer), they've put out alot of solo stuff since leaving BOC, before all this Covid-19 stuff BOC came to Vancouver Canada to play at the Ambleside Music Festival I had tickets and all but I ended up getting kidneystones, and of course I ended up missing the show! Hoping BOC can get out this way soon again, also definitely would love to see Joe and Albert Bouchard!! Let's hope things get better soon!! Love your BOC reactions and all the others you react to!!

Buck Dharma aka Donald Roeser is a guitar god …….as good and creative as any guitarist in the 70s …

Glad you kept the color and still liked' it but,
Damn, who are the idiots suggesting videos with such asscrap sound?
Dunno if you prefer soft or heavy songs (Heavy BÖC is not the ordinary heavy
"hardrock" more the timing, approach, performance - the perfection makes it heavy),
but dont give up on BÖC as there is so
many songs for you, like: (I always go for studiovers)
    Smooth:
    Deadline
    I love the night
    The revenge of Vera Gemini
    Lil more Weight:
    The vigil
    Lips in the hills
Four horsemen (Superheavy Movie soundtrack with lyrics to die for ♥

You should checkout the live version of the song Then Came The Last Days Of May from Blue Oyster Cult's On Your Feet Or On Your Knees album.

oh my heavens you are SO young. lol. This is music that was MY music when I was your age, and that was four long decades ago. I'm so glad to see youth pouring through these classic offerings and finding something to appreciate in it. Thanks for the reaction video and I'm pleased you liked it. Timeless music is, indeed, timeless, and Blue Oyster Cult has created very special and timeless music it its time. Thanks again, your friend from the USA. :)

i m not complaining but how did someone of your age from where you live get to end up reacting to these types of songs? im north american and in my 50s and a lot of your reactions are from when i first found a lot of the same songs

I love BOC they are one of the greats that were also very underrated. I do have their entire collection. Secret treaties was way back in 1974 but an awesome album

You look about the same age as I was when I discovered this band way back in the early 90s. I remember the excitement I felt at finding a band just as eccentric and clever as I was, compared to my peers in those days. I remember first being hypnotised by Buck Dharma’s guitar style; and now, 30 years later, Buck Dharma is still my favourite guitarist, alongside Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits.

This recorded concert was infamous for the terrible sound quality of the recording(totally void of the bass track). A shame too, as Eric's pipes were never better than in 1976. Good choice however, for "Astronomy" IMO, is their greatest song ever.

When you said ‘I feel like I’m liking this way too much!’ I immediately flashed back tothe first time I heard a live record of Blue Öyster Cult. They were so incredibly dynamic, and Buck Dharma used intervals in his guitar solos that were unlike anything I’d ever heard before.

  • @mickeyhank

Thanks for this, Elok. My favorite song by them - you rock for reacting to it. I've never seen this live version, it was cool. I like how Eric shields his eyes from "the light" and you're right, Buck is a great, underrated guitarist. I've seen them live a few times, once up close in a small club. The studio version of this has better sound quality, I would say check it out if you want to hear the best, full-sounding version of this. It's terrific: th-cam.com/video/U0t_wb0lUW0/w-d-xo.html Cheers. I hope school is going well for you.

Agree 100% to Secret Treaties tracks. Never understand why reactors seem to more often choose live versions of "Astronomy". The original studio version is one of the ultimate "headphones & bean-bag chair" pieces.

A friend of mine tells the story of how he stopped at a bar and a band started playing. It was BOC . This was b4 the were known by more than a few people. Only a handful of people were at the bar but a great show was seen and heard. From that point on they were his favorite band.
