    Single sided thumb studs seem so short sighted to me, especially on a “work” knife. There have been plenty of times I’ve had to open a knife with my left/opposite hand and with a single sided thumb stud that’s just not an option. Also I agree with you that pointy studs are duds. That said I do appreciate many of the other things you pointed out on the sebenza and they are a great work knife! Also also also, Slick’em All is the bees knees, arms, and legs! I’ve gone through and applied it to so many of my knives since I got it and I think my Nano Oil and KPL are getting pretty jealous.

    I have heard you mention your interprtation of the design reason for the holes in the CRK washers before ..... IMHO especially considering that CRK are designed to primarilly use grease as lube ..... the holes are more to act as a lube resivior space, extending the effective lubrication of the bearing face and to a lesser extent allow even distribution of the lube rather than function as a space to caputure grime (even if it might be a consequence). I honestly can't see why anyone would design a bearing face with a feature to collect particles rather than exclude them. Just my thoughts.

    I’ve always thought CRK wants us to slow roll the blade open and they feel the volcano thumb stud works well for that. I’m in the majority though wanting meatier double thumb studs. Another nitpick folks have is the blasted finish. It feels chalky and a bit rough. Recently they’ve introduced a glass blasting which I’m thinking is more tactilely pleasing.

    • @OCD4EDC
      @OCD4EDC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slow rolling or not, I'm not a fan of the stud, just my opinion. I actually like the feel of the blasted finish on the Ti. It does snail trail something fierce though. I have blasting cabinets so I can always make them look new again. However most people have to send them in for re-blasting.

      I said what I meant… bro. “surface tension” of grease is reference to how sticky the grease is. In other words, the sheer force of the grease. Surface friction would be the mechanical drag between the two surfaces, ie blade to washer friction. Two different things. Thanks for watching! 👍👍

      What you think is a flag in my videos, is not! I happens to be a neoprene pew maintenance mat. It has the 2nd Amendment printed on it, its just out of frame. I would never use a flag in that manor. Thanks for your service, comment and watching!

    • @Cubestone
      @Cubestone ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OCD4EDC Thanks for the reply. I did realize that it wasn't an actual flag, but a surface with the flag printed on it. The manufacturer of the mat was the initial violator of the flag code by putting the image of the flag on a mat for that purpose. That and similar things like flag paper napkins irk me. It amounts to defacing the flag, or in the instance of the napkins, wiping your face with it. These uses of the *image* of the flag are also part of the flag code. From the abundance of instances I see these days many people aren't aware of this. Please understand that my primary interest is bringing this to people's awareness so we might turn this around.
