I remember when my Dad used to go for walks with his Camcorder and make these videos. They're a nice record of how the town used to be now. Thanks for posting them on here. He's probably got a few more stored somewhere.
Hi Philip yes he told me he has a lot I didn’t name him on the videos as I knew I was going to post up and didn’t want to see your dad inundated with requests for them
I lived in Workington from 1965 to 1983, and it has changed a lot since then in certain parts like the town centre. Station Road and the railway station look the same.
Sad to see how many old shops are no longer in business. I could be in the minority of people who think the “new” town centre built after this is better but there’s even more empty shops now and the general upkeep of the town is far worse than back in ‘98
@@ARCHALTON69 I haven’t seen the guy that done this video for a while so not sure if he’s alive and well I do know that if he’s still with us he will have gone down to the curwen to video it before during and after
I may have just copied and pasted or a general typo error I know there is much more on the video cassette from that time that I need to get around to transferring

Very sad. To think we have lost the quality bakers of Reas, for the tasteless crap Greggs churn out. Excellent video by the way.
Town is dead now and some great Landmark buildings gone over the years and now the Curwen as well.
Nice video
