I've been climbing trees my whole life and this guy in our business is what's called just sober.

I've been in the logging business my entire life and have been involved with every extraction method known, but never I seen this method. If it's feasible, it's very affective. No damage with roads or small timber at all, and allows for percent select harvest.

      If it isn’t feasible,they wouldn’t do it.

What ids the purpose of "hot saw" logging vs standing stem. Don't you still have to standing stem log the remaining stem?

"Poles" or logs cut for telephone poles are generally 100' in Oregon. I can't imagine driving them out on a very serpentine logging road. I think those have to be lifted out.

This was a demonstration. I've seen both these climbers fall timber and they could lay any of those trees out with no damage whatsoever. These guys do this in steep rough terrain where there is limited accessibility and virtually no chance of saving the wood.

High value timber on rough ground. Conventional falling would result in a lot of breakage .
