This reminds me about those days when I was a first year student, doing mechanical engineering. We used to do those things manually, using T-square, bunch of rulers, several kids of pencils (HB, 2H, 4H, etc.), some protractors, flexicurves, you name them. Man, was that stuff not demanding, leave alone being time consuming, and sometimes discouraging!. All thanks to technology, now all I need is a laptop, and within 30min, I'm done with a fairly challenging drawing.

My Hidden line looked continuous because the scale was too big. Took me a while to figure out that I needed to change 'Line Type Scale'. Changed it from 1 to 0.05. Maybe this is because I'm working in Metric, but I am set to acadiso. Maybe its because i'm using Mac. Who knows?? 2) My Dimension text was huge. Similar problem. Solved it by going into Dimension Style Manager - Modify, clicking on 'Fit' tab and I changing 'Use overall scale of' from 1 to 0.1 Maybe there are better ways to solve these problems, happy to be corrected. Mongolia was unofficially controlled by Soviet Union for a long time after been separated from China in early 20th century. Their tiny industrial system is mostly about mining and uses Soviet standards. In recent years, as Chinese economic influence grows rapidly there, GB (Chinese standard) is becoming more popular now.
Great videos, I have a question when you are talking about choosing "acad" instead of "cadiso", I'm in engineering school and we have been using centimeter, meters, kilo, etc. since start school, now at the time when it comes to a job after graduation or whatever, do you use inches or centimeter? Side note: I live in the USA. I just want to know which way will be ideal to learn. Thanks.
Tim, thanks for the videos. I’ve downloaded a 30 day free version of autoCAD and these videos are great for a refresher course. I just have one problem, my line will not offset when I use the command and put in a distance. Is there something in my settings I need to change?

It is normal that ? And if not, how can I fix it ?
just type (regen) to clarify that area. however, no need to check that, you can say it is a little mistake in AutoCAD. if you see the tangent point, you are right. Great Tutorial Tim :) I have recently picked up on Autocad and am now looking to start doing small jobs in Upwork to gain more professional experience. But I feel stuck on how to discuss the details of the project (like what are the basic questions you should always have in mind? and more importantly, how do I present the final project to the client? any suggestions? maybe this could be an idea for a tutorial :)

I'm having issue with construction lines. When I offset it's never what I offset to. It's always .2ish off either direction.
Make sure you are selecting right Template page settings. acad is for imperial ( Inches) & acadiso is for Metric(mm)

in AutoCAD Tutorial 1, when I go to Annotate Tab it doesn't have the centerlin /centermark box as in the video. I'm using 2016 student version
