Hi, David, You can use plain old polystyrene foam available at most local hardware stores. The foam in the video is black polystyrene which I get from B and Q in the UK our biggest home hardware store. I also use XPS foam which some hardware stores sell as well. Hope that helps.

Hi I watched you video on Linuxcnc and I am on that path now. Why did you leave Linuxcnc as stated in the comments for that video. very good video did supply answers to questions I have about loading G-code in "Axis"
LinuxCNC is very good but needs to use a computer with a parallel port. These are obsolete now and the old computers I had were taking up too much space and were starting to fail. So I scraped them. To use LinuxCNC on a more modern computer you need to use a specialized adapter called a Mesa card. Which are quite expensive and can be tricky to set up. I would also need to dedicate a computer to Linux. So for me, it was time to move to either Mach3 or GRBL. I have chosen GRBL, Hope that helps Keith
@@rckeith Thanks for the reply I have the Mesa (7I76E and a PC linuxcnc configured. But things are going very slowly, due to the complex nature of Linuxcnc. I have built 9 (from scratch) CNC tables. I used Mach3 and UCCNC software and these table were for plasma, routing, metal scribing, and drag knife. Linuxcnc is much harder to learn due to its complex mature. Have fun Tom
Hi Tom Yes LinuxCNC can look a little daunting but lickily for me being so old I was around for the very first versions and used Linux for many years as well as Windows. I retired as a Linux System Administrator but started work as a apprentice motor mechanic, but thats a long story! Stick with it because it is very good and maybe one day I'll come back to it. Keith

I am a retired Field Engineer in computer based work with many different systems. I found with software it is finding the names or procedures to connect how things are done with them. Have fun Tom

Do you plane to build rudder and stabiliser out of foam or Balsa. Making landing gears would also be a challenge... Thanks ... you are simply awesome.
