Dave Evans was their singer their first (uneventful) year. Over winter from 1973-74, Bon Scott came in and helped tour the world for the band to get recognition. And it worked. Unfortunately as soon as the world was getting all excited about ACDC, Bon died (February 1980) Brian stepped in a few months later and rocked it for decades. Brian is great but Bon was always my favorite.

I knew the name Dave Evans, I didn't know he was the singer, must had been before 1974, as '74 Jailbreak featured Bon Scott. I keep getting Dave mixed up with Mark Evans, who was the bassist from 1975- 1977.

I was lucky enough to see Bon Scott on their Highway to Hell tour opening for Aerosmith before their big break up.
    Cobo Hall first concert.
    15 years old.
Great times. Dad dropped us off and picked us up after the show.
Scott's dad picked up the tickets and when the day of the concert came, Scott got grounded for forgetting to take out the trash that morning and his mother tore his ticket up in his face, his favorite band and couldn't go.
And kids think they got it bad today.
Great reaction fellow human. Peace ✌.

This isn't an original thought, I read this on another post somewhere but it stuck in my mind as true. As incredibly dynamic as Angus was on stage and as good as both Bon and Brian were and as hard driving as the rhythm section was, always on the side was Malcolm, absolutely destroying rhythm guitar. Seriously cranking out what I consider to be the AC/DC sound.

OK... haven't read too many of the comments so far, so I don't know if anybody's told the backstory for this song, but how I heard it, it was that after a show early on in their career, there were two girls, two groupies who were drinking with Bon, and they got him good 'n sloshed, one of em was thinner and the other was as described in the song and she told Bon sometime during the evening they were drinking, "I've had 26 rockstars so far !"
So eventually Bon wakes up, his head pounding, rolls over and see's this big fat, voluptuous Rosie lying beside him and she sleepily opens one eye and croaks two words to Bon, "... twenty-seven..." and rolls over and immediately falls back asleep. LOL
