  • In this satsang extract from the 2nd of August 1993, a woman called Barbara asks Papaji, "When I look, there is still somebody. Who is it?"
Papaji talks about the underlying essence of the wave and the ocean. He also gives the analogy of the fish who is thirsty and explains that no effort is needed to just BE. "You have got to do nothing to be as you are, but to become something you have to do so many things. You don't need to think, you don't need to make any effort... You have to be away to see somebody else. Anything too close cannot be seen. Don't keep yourself away from the Self. Go close, retina to retina, Self to Self. You don't see anything. And this is called Absolute Freedom: no two, not even one."
This is the official TH-cam channel of H.W.L. Poonja, well known as Papaji, run by the Avadhuta Foundation, a non-profit organization supported by donations and grants. To donate (thank you) to help this channel continue and keep all content accessible for everyone, visit avadhuta.com/do...

Yes, what he meant is if we see others as an individual separate self there is a division and division causes conflicts. Anything that we divide out is not the real entity hence non duality is the original unity of the entire universe. The ocean metaphor explained clearly this truth.
      Shanti shanti shanti.

Blessed Papaji, so much love and compassion and laughter.
Peace, love and beauty is our nature.
    Suffering is not.
Therefore remain with nature thats all.
    Mind is the wave.
    No-mind is the ocean. 🕉

no-one is looking. The human form is like any other form just a mere mirror reflecting existence back to itself. There is no I am looking. It's all mind and beyond the mind, there is the same silence that is in an objective reflecting mirror.
Existence exists in that space that is the reflection itself. Because space there is existence because existence there is reflection of existence by space.
"God" is space that is nothing (beyond the word).
That space is reflecting existence back to itself through forms.
Without objects, there is nothing (space, "God, mirror etc)
Without nothing is no possible as it's not a thing to be removed.
The fundamental principle of something is nothing, but nothing is as it implies not a thing.
Because it's not a thing it is not possible to realize it by using a thing (mind/brain/thoughts), but can only be realized by the total stillness of everything. For when everything stops, what is left is that which it stops in and is nothing, hence why you can not put a name on it, or see "God".
To realize this nothing and to "be nothing" is to allow the mirror inside the form to do its job without friction. The mind, the body, and everything in this life will work smoothly, as there is no separation, only reflection.

This is really a great explanation. The consciousness is eternal and infinite. But still the question is what creates the illusion of separation ?
