HM 5star motors are fully reconditioned and rebuilt replacement motors with new parts. I bought a blue 202 HM motor with gas head for my VH in the mid 90's via my local mechanic. If I remember correctly it was around $2900 fitted with a new set of Genie extractors. I'm in Adelaide and it was common to see HM 5star motors in engine bays. Mine still runs perfectly even after sitting neglected for 20 years.
My recollection is the 'Repowered By' stuff was second-hand stuff imported from Japan. That was cheaper than a rebuild and suited many people with older Japanese cars
